What do you think? Should the Avengers 2 be filmed in 48 frames per second?

I hope it will be. It would be awesome to see Iron Man in HD (but I think it might be too late for Thor 2 and Iron Man 3)

I haven't seen 48 FPS myself, but from the general reaction to it, I say Marvel should stay away from it.

Higher frame rate is the future of movies. They should film at 48fps IMO. If people don't like it, they can always go watch in 24fps instead.

Hell no. And considering that Joss didn't like using the Red Epic when shooting the post-credit scene for Thor, he and Seamus McGarvey will likely use the Arri Alexa again. Alexa doesn't have a 48 fps option yet, thank god.

But if they're going to release Avengers 2 in 3D (which seems very likely), they ought to shoot it that way instead of post-converting it.

God no. Stay away from the absolutely horrible looking 48 fps. It's an awful format and is in no way the future of films

I think this is probably the least important thing to care for about a movie. The people who wonder about this are the same people who buys Blu-Ray.

No. I buy Blu-Ray because it offers the best quality home video on the market.

I'm opposed to 48 FPS because it's rubbish. Jackson spouts all this nonsense about us being being able to see up to 75fps - that's true, but that's the (very) upper limit.

Tests have shown that average a human being can see is 40fps, which means that 48fps is too fast for the average person - that's why is looks like everything is running slightly too fast. Reaction to 48fps has been overwhelmingly negative, so I don't expect many people beyond Jackson and Jim Cameron to embrace it.

Not if it impedes the actual filming process...

However, technology has improved so much just in the last year.

GI Joe was also post-converted and the 3D in the latest trailer looked even more amazing than Avengers.

I say yes as it worked for the Hobbit, for myself anyway. A sharper deeper picture is always better.
There are still people I know who can't tell the difference from standard def and HD.

Unless the theater they go to strictly has 48fps viewing. Some theaters only have 3d views as well.
