FoX Cinematic Universe

  • X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)
  • Fantastic Four: Doom Strikes (2015)
  • X-Men: The Mutant Massacre (2016)
  • Fantastic Four: Annihilus Annihilates (2017)
  • X-Men: Age of Apocalypse (2018)
  • Fantastic Four: Galactus Returns (2019)
  • X-Men & Fantastic Four: Attack of the Skrulls (2020)

Here's my idea/suggestion on how FOX should make their own cinematic universe. Since the only major properties from Marvel that 20th Century Fox has are X-Men and Fantastic Four. I think those two should be their main priority. Forget about spin-offs for smaller X-Men characters and prequels. What they should be doing right now is how to make X-Men and Fantastic Four as large as the other big movie franchises right now.

With the X-Men, after Days of Future Past. They should forward to the present timeline and bring back the original cast of the X-Men series again. At least make 2 films with them and include new faces to the team like Psylocke and Forge. X5 should be an introduction to another big X-Men villain in the comics, Mr. Sinister. Then what happens to X5 leads to X6. Mr. Sinister is the main villain for X5 but at the end of the movie, there will be a big villain that Mr. Sinister is only working for a more powerful mutant, Apocalypse. Then Apocalypse will be the main villain for X6. And I don't want a trilogy where Apocalypse is the main villain, I think it could be tiresome so I think he should be the main villain for only 1 film.

Then for the Fantastic Four, I want them to be big first before teaming up with the X-Men. The box-office performance of their movies should be good and the films should be as good as the X-Men films, or at least good. And like the X-Men 4 to 6, give the series a bigger scale so it would really appeal to a lot of people.

Then after another successful trilogy from the original cast of the X-Men and a successful Fantastic Four trilogy. The next step should be, how can these two superhero teams appear in a bigger movie after their successful trilogy. The solution - make X-Men and Fantastic Four work together. X-Men go could to space for the first time and Fantastic Four will work with a more well-known superhero team. Its a win-win situation if done right and I believe it could be a massive hit. You have 2 superhero teams that had a successful trilogy and they are now coming together. I also think it could be the perfect time to bring the Skrulls. They invaded the earth and Fantastic Four/X-Men will stop them. Another idea for the cross-over film is have Magneto/Dr. Doom help Fantastic Four/X-Men.

Anyway, its just my wishlist. But the Fantastic Four reboot has to be really good and successful first if FOX is really planning to make a cross-over film with the X-Men and the Fantastic Four.

Mine from the other thread. Don't really care about the order. Deadpool, Uncanny X-Force and Silver Surfer are what I really want added at some point.

2017: Uncanny X-Force (Wolverine,Psylocke,Deapdool,Angel,Fantomex) FF2
2018: Deadpool 2?, X-Men: AOA
2019: Silver Surfer solo,
2020:FF3/SS mash up,UXF 2
2021:X-Men 11teen or whatever
2022: Silver Surfer 2

Edit:

Reasons are obvious for Deadpool. He's the last of Marvel's big guns without a flick and theres a ton of potential to do something different and have fun with the series.

Uncanny X-Force for three reasons. 1. If you read the book you know its the best ass kicking roster and X-Men story since the classics and is a good companion to AOA. (would be better as a post AOA film but could work as a set up with some changes) 2. It seperates Wolverine from the main team (which everyone wants), and gives him a more violent roster to lead that fits better with him. Plus he can finally wear the mask 3. It gives us Psylocke as a female lead. She deserves that time and has one of the heaviest scenes here that I've read in a X-Men comic that would transition perfectly to film.

Silver Surfer. He's one of the best Marvel characters out there and deserves to be done justice in his own film, too much there to just treat him like FF2 did. He can meet with the FF in a following film.

FF and main X-Men films will always be there. I have no problem with the FF or X-Men crossing into eachothers films if it's needed, but don't really have a desire to see a film dedicated to them teaming up. They have so many stories I'm not too worried on what I'll see, so I want some new stuff introduced and focused on. Only thing I demand from the main X flicks is an AOA film and not to remake X3.

def, taking into account your list, we'll need a main cast sequel between 2016-2021 :D

too many years without Cyclops, Rogue, Storm, Kitty and co.

Look again. I have three Main X Flicks in the span of 6/7 years not including DofP. That's more then enough. and giving the OT crew more time then anyone else I put on there.

Yeah of course, gotta have all those characters in AOA. Although, if they don't show Rogue and Storm doing some cool **** in doFP and Singer is still attached, then I could care less if they went with other characters for a main roster.

The years aren't really important on my list, I just want a selection of films from Fox like that. If they don't expand and give us a Surfer, Deadpool or another strong Xteam (would strongly prefer UXF ) I'll be pissed. Most studios would kill for those. Use what you got or gtfo ya know? We are in a time where GotG is a hyped up movie. Surfer is a bigger name then all those guys. You know Marvel would kill to have those guys back, so Fox needs to show us why we should say otherwise.

Re: FoX Cinematic Universe

Singer BETTER show Rogue and Storm kicking serious ass. this is 'THE MOVIE' to do it, so he has to.

And of course, to keep developing them on next movie, same with Cyclops and co.

I don't really see Deadpool and Silver Surfer getting their own film. I think FOX knows that its a risk to release solo films with their lesser-known characters.

Sometimes you need to take a risk

I suspect there will be more spin offs then just fantastic 4 and OT x-men, there sill be people behind the scenes throwing in ideas for different stuff

Re: FoX Cinematic Universe

They already took a risk when they released First Class and now with the 2nd Wolverine movie. Deadpool and Silver Surfer were also in pre-development stage but they probably didn't go ahead to filming/production stage because they know Deadpool wouldn't outgross a X-Men film and Silver Surfer wouldn't outgross a Fantastic Four film.

I don't know why they should keep taking the risk again and again, when there's more potential for success with the original cast. That would be the same case with Fantastic Four if the reboot became successful.

And I said this a hundred of times, its rare for a spin-off to outgross the main/original series. Origins outgrossed X1, but if you adjust the ticket prices, it didn't.

Re: FoX Cinematic Universe

When Fox actually releases a film that has under 20 min of Wolverine, Prof X and Magneto we can talk about them taking a risk. Any film without those characters is a risk for Fox.

Fantastic Four: The Doom of Doom
Fantastic Four: Galactus Galactates

Re: FoX Cinematic Universe

But in all honesty, I dont believe in a FoX cinematic universe.

I think X-Men should do one more film after DoFP with the cast it's used so far, and call it Age of Apocalypse. And then I think they should wait about 5 years and possibly reboot.

Fantastic Four, on the other hand, should make a 4 or 5 movie universe that goes like this:
F4: Annihilus
F4: Doom
Silver Surfer: Rise of Galactus
F4: Coming of Galactus

Not featuring anyone of the original cast in a major role and showing Professor X/Magneto in their younger days were already a risk.

For me, I don't think that would be a good decision. If DOFP ends up a big success, they should at least plan for two more movies and not just 1. And probably a third movie, to finally close the entire series.

If DOFP reignites the people's interest in the X-Men series, they would want to see more and not just 1 more film. So FOX should take advantage of that and ride the success of DOFP.

Like I said, they should use Fast/Furious as an example. They brought back the original cast and every film that they released since then got bigger and bigger.

Focused on the same people. They hired back the guy who made the good X-Men movies. Hardly a risk from Fox. Not putting well known characters can be seen as risky but the X-Men movies are guaranteed a certain box office. Like I said, when they give us a movie not featuring those three then I'll believe Fox is stepping out of their comfort zone.

That makes sense. But I for one would like to see a new cast, and not just a spiritual reboot like First Class. Specifically I want to see a new Wolvie, Cyclops, Jean, Iceman, and Storm.

I honestly think 8 movies is plenty. And, as has been said, this series is way too focused on Wolverine. His story is all but played out.

How about the original team? Iceman, Angel, Marvel Girl, Beast and Cyclops. With young adult actors (not teens and over 30). Versus Magneto and the original Brotherhood. Straight up. No Wolverine at all. idk. Just brainstorming.

FOX could have done that with First Class. But they didn't. And I feel like X-Men is in much better shape today compare to the last 3 years. There's a big excitement for Days of Future Past, Singer is on board, we had a good X-Men movie in 2011 and if The Wolverine turned out to be a good movie, it will help this series more. Business-wise, reboot is not the best option at this point.

You keep forgetting what "familiarity" does to the general audience. Sometimes, people are more interested to see on who they are familiar with. Another why reason why the Spider-Man reboot didn't do so well compare to the first Spider-Man film because the general audience were so familiar with Tobey Mcguire's portrayal of Spider-Man.

I firmly believe that DoFP will 'set the table' not only for at least one more film with the First Class cast, but also for future films involving the cast of the X-Trilogy. I also think we'll eventually see a blending of the X-Franchise with the rebooted Fantastic Four franchise.

As for rebooting the X-Franchise, I don't see that ever happening, as FOX had the opportunity to do a full reboot with First Class and didn't take it.

Or maybe some of it had to do with it getting fair reviews and the previous Spidey flick being regarded as a pretty terrible film. Who knows. I thought ASM was boring as crap, but I know others who loved it. It's a somewhat divisive film. So maybe people didn't want to waste their money on a film they were uncertain about. It still made alot of money. If you can show me specific data to how the general audience thinks we can put all that to rest. There are different situations for different films. I expect ASM2 to make a ****load of money.

Unless they are just bad films, the audience will never have a problem with films about new characters, and overtime (usually 1 film) will accept changes with recently rebooted ones. Everyone starts somewhere. I dont think anyone can start off as The Avengers or Dark Knight.....well maybe James Cameron.

Re: FoX Cinematic Universe

when a Spiderman reboot does more than 700m worldwide, its not like Sony was really sad to see those numbers, u know? :funny:

So many studios wish to have the first movie of a new series doing that well.

The issue is how profitable each new series can be in the Long Run, not just with the first movie.

And lets see how the sequel does, I wont be surprised if it breaks the 1 billion mark, and even if it does around 700 again, its still a big hit, so Sony wont stop there and will do a third one.
