I re-watched this movie yesterday for the first time in years. When I was younger I thought it was horrible, too much love story, not enough action and no fight scenes. But now re-watching it the movie has more resonance. I mean the film was about emotion, and I think that older fans can understand that more because they've expericed the feelings of love and loss. I'm not sure if I consider it to be the best superhero film ever, I guess because I wasn't born in the time it came out, so I missed some of the magic and hype. I will say that I have developed a true respect for this movie and consider it to be one of the greats.
That's great, I'm really pleased. I've always loved the Superman films, I used to watch them all the time as a kid. Although, like you I appreciate Superman: The Movie more now than I did then.
