As he rolls over a bit, I notice that my job here clearly isn't even close to done. And of course I haven't forgotten the old wounds I just so happen to see as we laid him down. Geez. What drives a man to do this? I know it's ironic I say this, because I've been in the superhero gig for a little while now...but a man with no apparent powers? No gift that puts him above his fellow man?

Me? I can fly, and depending on the day I can inspire people to move closer to God depending on the Angel that watches over me in one particular fashion over another. Plus let's not forget the elemental powers that also differ on each day. Plus I've got a wicked fire sword...well when it chooses to light up. Eh it's complicated. Only ignites if I'm defending the innocent. All that's left really is this ability to heal through prayer and that holy water can heal my own personal wounds...take that all away and what am I? Just a man.

So what drives a man to pull himself through all the gunk of superhero work? Is it his past? What, did his parents die like Batman's so he has this uncanny obsession of cleaning up the streets? Or was he just born or raised with an unnatural desire to do good for Mankind similar to that of Superman?

Muttering a silent prayer under my breath, I slowly hover my hands, guiding them together towards the man's broken hand. I take a deep breath and to help the bone that's practically saying hello to me by exposing it self I apply a slight amount of pressure as I push the bone in. He grunts and groans a little, but thankfully my healing abilities make the process a soothing one at the same time.

"I gotta tell you, while I don't know the war stories behind these scars and cuts...you got guts. Although..."

And with a silent pop, the bone is back in place and in a few seconds his hand is as good as new.

"You shouldn't ever forget that you're only human. Maybe now that some of us have finally decided to really step up and become public--myself kind of by accident--good and decent citizens such as yourself can sit back and let us do what we should've been doing the whole time. I mean, with my name and face being outted...what else am I going to do with my spare time? Cannot exactly just waltz around town like my life is normal anymore."
