Name me a historical epic that was accurate? Movies have always taken ridiculous liberties with characters and settings for the sake of story. I doubt Xerxes was in reality an 8 ft giant with a goat man in his tent but hey, if you're gonna mythologize a golden age of history, you might as well push the boundaries and see what you can get away with.
