I have to duck out of this conversation... it's driving me insane, and mainly just makes me want to repeat the word 'Seriously' in a high pitched tone over and over again... which is not healthy.

I'll just leave it with this:

I find your opinion completely illogical, and it seems to show an COMPLETELY different view of Superman as a character to the one I have.

However, I feel safe in the knowledge that this movie will not have Superman laughing in the face of human fear.

So feel free to have your opinion.

Sure, they are interesting questions that I don't mind seeing in an elseworlds GN. But as a theme for the film that is kicking off the tone of the whole JL, and in a film that is presenting Superman to the general audience in a way that current generations will remember him?
I just don't like it. It's dark, it's depressing and it's not how I like the tone of Superman films to be.'
