The main thing they need is an enemy who can stand toe to toe with Supes in a fist fight, or who is on a similar power level.
They need immense spectacle.
Brainiac, Darkseid, Doomsday.
Each getting one film each.
Using Zod again was a waste.
And definitely no more Luthor real estate plots, sheesh.
