Possibly.
But I'm leaning now towards the retcon being for Surtur, who's pretty much been around since the
dawn of time....they may rewrite that to make Surtur be around
before the universe began. Which would simplify the storyline somewhat, and continue to pay homage to Simonson (who seems to be the guidestone for this film).
