Newsflash: Reps lie. The studios lie. Just because a rep for an actor/director/producer/studio denies a news leak, doesn't make it untrue.
So keep that in mind.

This. They'll have to renegotiate a new contract if the studio wants Cavill for a third MOS film, but I don't see why WB shouldn't try that. If MOS is successful, WB will want Cavill for JL to maintain that continuity.
But they have to get both scripts in order and schedule Cavill accordingly.
