So stacking a brand-new show against those juggernauts --- especially a show in a genre that continually fails on any TV network that isn't CW or animated --- is a recipe for disaster. They need to debut SHIELD against weak competition, and not in a death-sentence time slot.
When I said "better" I meant "do" better in terms of ratings. HIMYM averages around 8 million viewer, CSI 10, and TWD 10. The only juggernaught there is BBT with around 18-20 million. I've always imagined SHIELD bringing in upwards of 11 million on a national channel like ABC especially if it's not up against TWD on Sundays.
