One thing we can get from Singer that we didn't get from Vaughn was that Singer (mostly*) knows what works and what doesn't. He can view the X-men world through his realism angle and knows how to change things so they can work.
He knows that if something is cheesy he'll edit that out. As producer I had hoped Bryan would've stepped in when he saw that the furry Beast introduction scene in the hangar didn't work.
Or he had come up with a better way to show Sebastian Shaw's powers.
