I just spotted that 1973 also saw (according to Wikipedia entry on robotics) the "first industrial robot with six electromechanically driven axes." Axes meaning plural of axis, not axe. In other words, able to reach its arm into different points rather than just swinging from side to side (two axes). Maybe the date has something to do with the development of the first Sentinel too?
One possibilty for Wolverine Is the 1973 version after having left Stryker(as we saw In Origins) could be recruited by Time traveler to help stop the assassination.

As for sentinel remember they have to have reasons the sntinles aren't used till after trilogy.Maybe Trask devolps plans for Sentinles but they are too advanced for 1973 technology to complete, and It takes years for technology to allow Trask's plans to become reality.

Trask Is likely candiate for assassination Inless they have Nixon In that role.

Based on Bryan's talk It seems like Iceman might be seocnd tier future character. When Bryan talks about returning actors In recent interviews he doesn't put Shawn Ashmore In same sentence with other confirmed OT returnees.

A big question Is how are they balancing Rogue and Kitty's roles. That question could answer which one could be time traveler. If It wasn't for true Blood schedule My bet would be On Rogue as Time traveler and taking Kitty's role In FIlm version. But because kitty Is In film and there Is the matter of true blood who knows.
