Re: The Official Zack Snyder Thread - Part 3
I just watched Sucker Punch and it's an interesting experiment to say the least. It shares somthing with inception in that it has fantasy worlds within a fantasy world. The Brothel is a good choice as a representation of the mental hospital, as the character clearly has dealt with issues of sexual abuse, and I get that every time Babydoll dances that she puts herself in another fantasy where she feels more empowered. However, I think Snyder jumped around a little too much .
Why can't you stick to one fantasy and let the empowerment come from there rather than creating multiple scenarios? Sucker Punch needed more focus . It's a great visual experience and the story had potential, but it doesn't hit the mark completely.
Iíll go out and Iíll find some more of that Mulan Szechuan teriyaki dipping sauce, Morty. Because thatís what this is all about, Morty. Thatís my one-armed-man. Iím not driven by avenging my dead family, Morty. That was fake! Iím driven by finding that McNugget sauce. I want that McNugget sauce, Morty. Thatís my series arc. If it takes nine seasons, I want my McNugget dipping sauce ó Szechuan sauce, Morty.
