It's hard to see how it's more realistic if you know nothing about movies, or anything. That's reflected not only by your question, but by the fact that you think the realism is hindered by the lizard. I could maybe see raimi's being more realistic if everybody besides James Franco and Topher Grace were playing people that don't know how to act. And script writers and a director that is terrible.
I wish people wouldn't even talk about the Webb and raimi trilogies in the same sentence.
