That's exactly what I'm expecting. I'm just saying tying it to science is a way of tying it in to the cosmic stuff.

And I completely agree with everything you said in the rest of your post. I'm not just favoring Captain Marvel because she's more "cosmic" than Scarlett Witch, I'm also favoring her because she seems like a better lead. Her current title that DeConnick is writing is awesome, and while I don't remotely think it should be used as a model for a Captain Marvel movie (time travel, brain lesions limiting powers, etc are not great "origin story" threats), I do think it illustrates that the character makes for a great lead who can completely carry her own stories. And like you said, SW might also come a little close to stepping on Dr. Strange's toes, while Carol has a somewhat unique power-set and origin that would set her apart from what we've seen thus far.
