One of the things that I loved about the film was how it took Tony’s character to several places that we’ve never seen him go or explore in previous films. This film definitely pushed the character to his limits, more so than any of the previous films that he’s made appearances in. And for the first time since Iron Man 1, we got to really see Tony emotionally vulnerable down to his core.
Honestly, it’s hard for me to believe at times that this is the sequel to Iron Man 2 since Shane Black did a complete 180 from that film in terms of how he approached with handling the character.
The whole time I was thinking that this movie is the follow up Iron Man should have had. It was nice seeing him in positions where I wasn't sure how he was going to get out of.
