If all you
saw was a child running around in a red cape , and nothing more, I can't fault you for not getting anything more out of that scene, but, for others (myself included), it meant a hell of a lot more on a metaphoric level of sorts. As for the scene where Clark is shown saving the kids on the bus, it was pretty much suggested that this wasn't the first time he did something like that. I'm sure Jonathan was proud of him, but, at the same time, he was also very protective and concerned -- especially because people were starting to talk.
