While I acknowledge the films influence on practically EVERY comic book since, and also have respect for the likes of Reeve, Kidder, and, to a lesser extent, Hackman, I simply cannot agree that this is the best superhero movie ever.
The movie has so much cheese and at the same time so little tension or emotion I find it very hard to 'get into' so to speak. Its still a good movie, but mainly because of the performances with what they were given, and IMO, it has been surpassed at least more than 15 times.
I like cheesy, seeing as I am a big fan of Lois and Clark, and that is both cheesy and campy, especially the villains.
Still, I thought the ways Clark Kent changes into Superman in S:TM made it too likely someone would discover him changing.
L&C did some homage, but they also did things different. I liked that Clark was competent. You also got to see why Clark loved Lois. It was a more believable dynamic. I also thought Luthor was much better done.
The reverse time and fix everything ending was just a step too far.
