This should be posted. I hope to God it doesn't pan out, because (considering his resume), talk about not getting the philosophical adventure film we want.

Paramount wants “Star Trek 3″ in theaters in 2016, which means it would coincide with the 50th anniversary of the launch of the 1966 television show.

Back in May our very own ‘El Mayimbe’ tweeted that he heard “Attack The Block” director Joe Cornish was on a list of contenders up for the gig. Other rumors, although unconfirmed, had Justin Lin and Brad Bird as possibilities as well.

A few days ago, (was told not to say anything till now) I was told that there was one person so far on top of the list.

That person is “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” director Jon M. Chu.
