You obviously don't understand what the audience is for these movies. These are not Batman fans like you and me. They don't read comics, they've seen the shows (60s maybe, depending on their age) and seen the movies. Even so, ive been through this argument before. The majority of the general audience don't know Robin's name by heart. Most don't know "Dick Grayson" they just know Robin. These films are not made for fanboys theyre made with the general audience in mind.

I know people who have seen the 60s series and in the 90s seen Batman Forever like once. And they couldn't tell me who Robin's name was.

You guys have to stop thinking that these movies revolve around the fans. Because they don't. We're an EXTREMELY SMALL PERCENTAGE. It's the same as the GA knowing who Wonder Woman is of course, but the majority wouldn't be able to tell us that her name is "Diana Prince".

"Lets make one thing very clear here - Nolan's films are as faithful an adaptation as there is. It pays homage to its source material, remains true to its characters and above all else places the story first and foremost." - jmc
