I think mainly because it's basically a Japanese movie. Pretty much the whole movie is about the Japanese culture and their sense of family, honor and traditions. Not to mention it's a 3D movie (even though it wasn't shot that way). Finally, it features several popular Japanese actors/models.

Wow thats some big figures for TLS in Japan and yeah TW I doubt will come close to that but anything in the 20-30m range would be a great boost to the final TW figure.
I dont know for sure but it feels like it jas been heavily marketed in Japan so I am sure it will be a success, I hope so anyway.
