Re: All Things Superman and Batman: An Open Discussion - Part 2
Kind of a new topic here, but I didn't want to start a new thread since it'll probably get derailed anyway.
I just finished reading Superman: Flyby by J.J. Abrams. I noticed a lot of similarities between that and MoS in the first 60 pages or so. What I did find very interesting was how they progressed Luthor's character. It didn't like him being an alien or a CIA agent, but I did like that he was used as a physical threat at the end. That was what really solidified to me that they were going to go head-to-head for a long time.
I get that some want Lex to be solely a cerebral villain, but I feel that him going toe-to-toe with Superman early in their history expands on why he has to rely on using other villains' physicality in the future. It also would setup an epic rematch since they'd both be experienced fighters down the line should they meet again.
