I think that's exactly where Marvel is heading in films, publishing, animation, etc. Introducing characters as Inhumans as opposed to mutants allows Marvel Studios to retain their film rights. It's likely that any new "born this way" heroes and villains, and perhaps a few old favorites, will be the result of Terrigen Mist and not the X-Gene.
