Well I didn't really mean it like that, I don't think the way He-Man for example was designed has anything to do with sexual attractiveness, but more to do with being a male power fantasy. Characters are designed like this to make men feel more powerful.
But surely we should not ignore how male leads in particular have been sexually glorified thanks to their picturesque physiques. You may have a point in cartoons and comics, but outside those mediums the female demographic is most assuredly being targeted as well.
I saw this pic a while back, and it did make me laugh at how absurd it came off when its applied to the opposite sex:
And I say that as a guy. So yeah, both sides have definitely fallen to double standards because its been ingrained as the norm.
