Default Should SM3 be the last

I loved the spidey moves ( perhapes 1 more though), but IMO i think this should be the last because, i would rather have an amazing spider-man trilogy, then have the sequals deminish over time *Cough* *Cough* * superman 3,4 & batman forever, batman & robin *Cough*. Its not possible for them all to be good, so whats it to be a great trilogy or average saga?

i am not sure. i guess if everybody wants to stop, they should stop. but i would like to see some more spider-man movies. i don't care if they are by a different director and different actors. so yes i would like to see more spidey movies but don't care who does it.

i also have to say that spider-man can go more than 3. i know batman and superman couldn't but they are dc movies. marvel, i think, has a bigger fan base and will get more people to come see the movie.

the two most popular superheroes that everybody knows about are Superman and Batman, so don't give me that ****. also, i don't want more than a trilogy. 3 films just works perfectly.

Spidey movies can go stronger than three.

Spider-Man has fought the most villians in Marvel history (that I know of) so theoretically you could do endless sequels w/out running out of material. However, they fxxxed up by not putting Gwen Stacy in the movie from the word go. The problen w/ sequels though is you're never guaranteed to get a quality movie.

SM-3 will not be the last, Sam Rami told me there are going to be 340579035034 movies.

Go figure.

I personally think they'll finish up 1-3 with the original cast, then replace people like Tobey and Kirstin for other actors so they can do 4-6. (If they stick to the 2 Trilogies idea)

I would like them to actually do the two Trilogies and then say goodbye for 7-10 years or so, if not longer. As long as the story can hold up and the acting and characters are done well-enough, I say continue. Sequels always don't have to do downhill, but it generally happens because less detail and attention is paid to the characters and situations as time goes on...leading to worse written and worse directed movies.

studios are funny.

Batman's crappy sequels happened despite Superman's crappy sequels existing.

The Matrix trilogy debacle happened despite Back to the future trilogy existing.

So I feel inclined to agree wholeheartedly. They never pay attention to history.

How is that funny? Studios care about cash, not quality. Batman and Superman movies make a lot of money. And no-one tries to make a bad film, it's just very hard to make a good film. It's very hard to make a film, period.

there have been about 10 of this exact same thread in the past few months...and i'm gonna say what i usually do:

Why stop making them if they continue to make quality movies? there is such an anormous fan base and so much great original material to go from...so to answer: NO!

End it with a trilogy. I doubt Raimi will return for more and I dont trust any other director.

Of course it WON T .

Batman franchise sucked at the end because of the change of direction AND the director choosed for it .

Trust me if Raimi or someone of his caliber (Alex Proyas , David Fincher) remains at the helm of it, we could have a lot of Spidey movies .

After all there s tons of interesting villains which could make for great entertainment on the big screen

So I really hope it won t be the last of Spidey Movie, only the last one filmed by Raimi since it s time for a fresh start again

No way. Spider-Man needs to become the next James Bond at best, or get run into the ground like Rocky at worst.

No way. We still need to see the better villains like Lizard, Venom, and Scorpion. When they make one with Venom devote the whole movie to Venom and put aside the love story and Peter's life.

If SM3 is an average film, yes, they should stop. If SM3's good or great, they should continue.

i agree somewhat. i think if #3 does well then hell yes continue. but if it bombs, which it won't totally, they will probably just end it.

One thing is for sure :

the more it will make money, the more we will get some out of them .

The less it will make, the earliest it will be gone forever

Sadly, that is true. Problem is, they could completey destroy the franchise and everyone will only notice when it's too late - if it sells Happy Meals, then it'll continue...Case in point, the Batman and Superman franchises.
