Default Any info on the plausibility of a director's cut?

I've been holding off on buying the F4 dvd because I assume that a director's cut will eventually be released. Has Fox or anybody involved with the movie mentioned the possibility yet? I figured there would be threads about it here, but for some reason I can only see one page of threads on this board. (?)

I've been holding off buying this film for the Directors Cut too! To make me happy, reshoots!!! When Johnny jumps off the building, reshoot the scene, and have him wearing his suit on underneath. Reshoot the scene where Ben's fiance runs out in the street, in a neglejay, instead have her wear a robe. Get rid of the scene where Ben robs the clothing store. Have Doom electrocute the guy in the underground parking lot, instead of shooting a hole through him, as the scene was originally meant to be done. Get rid of Suzie's stripping down scene on the bridge, since all 3 of them were able to get past the police without a problem. The extras in that scene were terrible! They didn't even react to her taking her clothes off when she went invisible. When Johnny flamed up and flew into the snow, the nurse lady didn't even looked shocked at what happened!

In addition to this, the 1 Ton Thing should do more damage to the old ladies' car when he lands on it after being nailed by Doom. There is a flipped shot of Johnny flamed on when being chased by the missile that needs to be flipped back. I also agree the scenes with Alba stripping (while hot in prospect) definatly dragged the quality of the movie down.

Fox will release it in their own good time. There in no rush since the film, and the DVD did so well in sales. And since i've been gone for a while. 417 days, 59.57 weeks, 1 year 1 month 21 days, 36,028,800 seconds, 600,480 minutes, 10,008 hours, till the sequel opens.

I recall hearing a while back about a Kirby documentary being made as a bonus feature for a director's cut. Then there was that cut footage with H.E.R.B.I.E. in the background, that never made it to the original DVD release.

I'd say it's just a question of when they want to release it...

And there's a lot more than that. Based on the script, the deleted scenes that were included on DVD's and still shots I've seen of scenes that were shot but not included on any DVD's, I'm betting there's close to 40 minutes of unused footage - including extensive scenes with Alicia.

My bet is they'll try to get it out by December. A good time to make some Christmas sales and get some interest building for the sequel.

I remember Story talking about the DC some time back. He said, putting everything back in doesn't mean a better cut. I do know he wants back in the scenes with Alecia, and Ben. The Kirby Gallery and gas station ones. Ones not mentioned : the whole Doom press conferance, before they go into space, where it is explained who Debbie is. The cell phone call from Reed to Debbie, to meet them at the Bridge ( Explains why Debbie was there, rather then us assuming she was taking a walk by there ). The Sue Doom dinner. The storage room scene, where we see H.E.R.B.I.E. and the Fantasticar. Johnny at the bar, doing tricks with his flame. Leonard finding Ben, when Doom calls for him to bring him to the Baxter Building ( instead of us woundering where he found him ). What did he have him in his hip pocket ? Planatirum scene. What I want to see in a DC, is those scenes with Ben and Alecia. And whatever else they want to throw in. Then on the 2nd disc, have EVEY other scene that didn't make it back into the cut, blooper scenes, and what ever else they want to throw in. That's my ultimate DC. I don't want to see, music videos. I don't want to see Avi, Story, or Frost talking. I want to see what was missing. ALL of it.

As well as....

*the cat in the tree scene...
*Sue/Reed scene talking about how the people want them to take care of their every problem...(needs to be put back in)
*Ben crashing through the door, Sue says "great, now we need a new door"...

as far as Alicia and Ben....those scenes should be back in....but leave the part out where you have the sultry music and she's cleaning him....(very creepy and strange)

I don't see a DC cut until Spring 2007.....in my opinion.

No stranger then the mental image of Ben and Alecia having sex. Whose on top. And I agree with what you said there. I want ALL the movie, either in the cut, or on a 2nd disc.

Apparently you've never seen FF porn

The "Bored housewife" one was ace.

Forget about a director's cut. I want a new movie. "Fantastic Four Begins," only with a better title.

Most FF porn is Sue/Johnny incest-based.

Just fyi.

We really need the scene where Johnny goes out clubbing just before the fight with Doom and finds out that he may not be as famous as he thinks he is. I know it was filmed because the people in that scene are in the credits. Release the DC already FOX! God I hate 20th Century!!! This company is the WORST for double-dip release DVDs.

Yeah it was filmed. About 30 or so minutes of deleted scene were put online for the R2 DVD. I still got them on my HD
