Transformers in Movie - Past, Present, Confirmed, Rumored, & False

I've started this thread to sort of be a Master Classification on those Autobots and Decepticons that have been in the movie, are currently in the movie, and are rumored or have been rumored to be in the movie. If a mod feels like sticking this, that would be great and assist in cleaning up the multiple "Which Transformers are in the movie" threads.

Currently Confirmed Autobots:
Optimus Prime -- Semi-Truck or Fire Truck (Depends on rumor)
Bumblebee -- Camero

Currently Rumored Autobots:
Jazz -- Sportscar (Rumored to be anything from a Corvette to a Lamborghini)
Ironhide -- Pickup Truck (Rumored to be a black and red pickup truck)
Ratchet -- Ambulance

Taken Out of the Movie Autobots:
Arcee -- Motorcycle, Once one of the original Autobot choices but was taken out and replaced by another Autobot. Supposedly Ironhide replaced her. Robert Orci (writer) officially stated that the reason she was cut was that the story worked better without her in it. That the story played out better with her replaced. (*Most assume this is a BS statement, since almsot everyone wanted Arcee removed from the movie.)

Rumored to Have Been in at One Time Autobots:
These 'Bots were rumored to have been in the Autobot Roster at different points throughout the pre-production period...

Brawl -- Military Jeep (Brawl was originally a Jeep in the First Draft)

Soundwave:
Soundwave has been in and out of this production for a while. He was once the Decepticon Helicopter. The Helicopter's name was changed to the Place Holder Name, "Vortex", but all of Soundwave's abilities stayed with the 'Copter...the abilities of a sonic attack, ejecting a minion (Scorponok), and hacking into the military's computers.
Then he became a 4.5ft tall stereo, that is very fragile and gets his head knocked off by one of the main humans, a teenage chick. He supposedly would have had a few scenes with the Decepticon Police Car as well as was planned to sneak onboard Air Force One as this small stereo-former.

How about Teletran-1. Any word on that?

Man, I'm gonna miss Ravage, Lazerbeak and crew. They seem like such simple things to include... like in quick throwaway 1-minute "spy" scenes transmiting back information.

Originally Hasbro wanted Ravage to be ejected by Soundwave, for part of their marketing was going to focus on that for the toys...or at least that was the rumor when the first draft of the script was coming around. I can't remember if it was confirmed true or false. I think true for a while though.

Teletran-1 has NOT been mentioned but what HAS been mentioned is that the Autobots each scan their vehicle modes, in a similiar way to Beast Wars. Rumors say that they each scout and look for an alt. mode and they will scan them in some form of sequence. Supposedly Jazz scans his alt. mode from a sportscar showroom and Ironhide from a truck he sees on the roadside. (Of course this is all just rumored)

I can't say I'm a fan of teh Trans-scan.

All those rumoured characters seem pretty random though. Plus I think you mistook Brawl for Swindle, since Swindle was the jeep.

And Frenzy as a mobile mortar launcher? I managed to block that one from memory. *shudders*

Nope I didn't mistake it. I know how the Combaticons are in G1. I'm a huge Transfans. BUT, Brawl was once a Jeep in the first draft planning stages of this movie. It was on Don Murphy's boards somewhere, that list of Decepticons. If I can find it I'll link you.

Yeah, Prime was supposed to chase down a Decepticon Truck on a freeway, ending with him sliding along the ground as Prime transforms to catch the Truck. I believe that's how it was supposed to be.

IronHide is one of the ones I REALLY wanted in.

Remember how large that Helicopter is...the robot mode would be huge. So Scorponok, would still be bigger than a truck probably.

And Ironhide is my fav. Autobot, so I'm very happy he's in the movie, as long as he's treated well as a character.

Some of this doesn't sound that bad actually. If they would've rethought some of the names for the Decepticons then it could've worked. I don't recall hearing some of these rumors, but did the rumor you hear suggest that the "rumored at one-point Autobots" list were the Autobots added to the film when they increased the numbers on both sides by a signifigant amount?

Some of these rumors are from the Don Murphy Boards, some are from TFW2005, and some are from TFans.

As for the One-Point Autbots, yeah...basically at one time they were thinking of having 10 Autobots vs. 10 Decepticons, or at least that was the rumor going around. And the TF's in those Categories on my list here were names that popped up here and there during that time.

To be honest, I think Shockwave, Brawn, and Tracks were just fan-made rumors, but the others I do believe they were actually considered for the film.

In that case, if these rumors were true, then I'm a little disappointed by the exclusion of some of those Autobots. Though I have to ask, what makes you question the validity of the rumors claiming that Shockwave, Brawn, and Tracks were in the film? I remember the writers mentioning Shockwave in an interview last year.

Shockwave might be true...doesn't surprise me if he was suppsoed to be in the film at one point. But some of the rumors around him seemed to be too fan-wanking/fanboy-ish.

Tracks was mentioned in co-relation to the Alternators toy line details/designs, which at one time were going to be the main influence on the Transformers' designs (supposedly). So that to me just seemed off.

Brawn seems an odd choice, for two reasons:
1.) Hasbro no longer has the rights to use Brawn's name. However, Hasbro could get the rights to use "AUTOBOT Brawn" as a name...since that's how they have to do Jazz's name now, due to licensing problems. That's why Hot Rod can no longer be called Hot Rod, he has to be called Rodimus or Rodimus Major or something along those lines.
2.) The way he was mentioned seemed almost throw-away and out of place, compared to the way Prowl and Sideswipe were talked about. Maybe that's just me not reading clearly or maybe my mind just doesn't grasp it right anymore, due to time passing from when I read/heard the rumors.

Well going with only 5-6 Autobots...you can't choose all of the best. You have to look at it from a small cast. You need certain characters to fill in certain voids...

Leader -- Optimus Prime
Right-Hand Man/Second-in-Command -- Jazz
Warrior/Weapons/Vet -- Ironhide
Doctor/Surgeon/Mechanic -- Ratchet
Younger Soldier/Friendly/Relatable -- Bumblebee

See it all works out for the 'Bots. Personally I would have liked to see Prowl, Wheeljack, and Sideswipe make it in, along with a few others...but it's just the first movie and only so much can happen/characters can be introduced with enough time to completely fill them out (hopefully).

Originally Don Murphy (movie producer) said they were hoping to make this a franchise of multiple movies...up to five I believe was the number thrown out at one time.

I don't think 5 would be enough, They need to do a lot more, There some much stuff in the Transformers universe that they would have to make a whole lot of movies to cover it.

This also depends on what happens in this movie...since this is a re-adaptation of Transformers that takes elements from EVERY major TF source in the last 20 years. The story could go anywhere, even something totally new.
