Change the neckline, shade of red (should be brighter) and please, no two-toned red cape. . . .

I apologize for my ignorance but where's the difference? He still looks the same...... Regardless of his "costume", it's his actions that define him not his outfit. If you really need to change the costume, then remove the red speedos cause it's the freaking 21st century not the cross dressers venue. I mean no disrepect to Superman cause he actually is one of favorite Superheroes but if most of you are gonna nitpick about color here & there..... why not address the real main problem? Sit down & think about it before you attack me or give me any bull**** cause it's true. Don't give me an excuse that it has to be the same since the 1930s.

Meh, the only change I'd make is to brighten up the colors just a wee bit. Not too much. The buckle I can take or leave.

I agree, the muted colors remind me of the 40's Superman color scheme, which I like. The neckline can change but I really prefer the smaller "S" shield; it bugs me when artists like Alex Ross draw it bigger than the character's chest. |

Damn, you are so right! That "red underwear" on the outside really sucks! This maybe my no. 1 complaint towards superheroes -- its their f*#^&* costumes! The costumes suck in live-action superhero-movies(except Spiderman, X-men & a few others). When I see them, I always think, "hey, where's the halloween party?" Supes' suit should really be changed for the better. I won't mind a radical change. They did it in the X-Men movies; I remember there were a lot of howls and protests regarding the X-men's suits' change BUT the movie was a success. Marvel also did it in the Ultimate line comics and again it was a success. So why not with Supes? Ohh, because Supes is too iconic of a character? Again, it's the 21st century! This kind of change will be good for this iconic character. It will spark renewed interest in the character. So I suggest getting rid of that silly red underwear! The suit in SR is great-looking without the red undies. A casual audience will be very interested in this kind of change and then ticket sales will get a boost so that means more Superman movies for us, don't you think? [Uh-oh, my spider-sense tells me I'm gonna get blasted for this.]

Royal Blue
Blood Red Same shade of yellow Loosen up the neckline Actually, If I had my way, the Kingdom Come suit would be the new offical outfit, for the most part because I hate the color yellow and I think it looks more modern. But I know that would piss off alot of people so scratch that comment. |

I liked the suit in Returns alot, but a few changes would be ok with me. Make the red a bit brighter.

the suit definitely needs tweaking:
-- wider neckline -- slightly larger shield -- slightly larger briefs -- tad brighter shade of red -- dye Routh's hair jet black (not exactly part of the costume but contributes to the overall look).

More or less what I was thinking, but I'd just make the briefs a tad higher i/o larger. They're way too low on him. Definitely the wider neckline, so Clark can wear a wider variety of shirts w/o it showing (and so we can see more of Routh!
). I thought the cape in SR was too dark & rubbery looking on the outside and that the boots were way too dark.Quote:
![]() but I'd like the neckline a few inches wider still and would like the bottom of the briefs to go just a tad higher so they're less like shorts. A thick suit is fine for a mere mortal such as Spidey or Batman, but Superman doesn't need one. Want Routh to be able to bulk up as much as he wants to w/o worrying about how the suit fits!

That suit looks like *****! Reeve is dead and so is his utterly cheesy 70s Superman style. The suit is just fine. They should leave it as it is (and most likely they will). They aren't gonna waste time and money on an all new suit design. You might get a slightly bigger S but that's about it.

Yeah i agree, as much as i like the suit, they should keep it the original colors. Just make the red, RED.
