Default Devil May Cry - The anime

http://dmc-tv.com/

It's official. Studio Madhouse (Trigun) is producing the series based on one of Capcom's greatest game series of all time.

A short teaser trailer in the link above has some designs for the show. It looks to be based off of the first game.

Youtube link to the trailer:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=2jY8ATrrv_Q

Designated comic relief for the series is Agni and Rudra. Just make them characters and let them cut loose. So much untapped potential in DMC 3.

I'm hearing it will be 12 episodes.

They can always do more.

Most anime shows don't last that long really. In Japan, most them air once and then they are done.

I'm glad we are at least getting a DMC anime. I hope it rocks.

Of course it will. Devil May Cry is a hit video game series in the US as well. People would eat this up.

And what of the Xenosaga, Star Ocean and other such 'hit video games series in the US' animes?

My hope is that Madhouse goes balls to the walls with this and doesn't hold back on any of the content.

I want to see Dante cut things in half.

Hey it's only a matter of time. Zone of The Enders got released here as well.

Devil May Cry is one of the most popular PS2 series ever. An American distribution company will license it. That much is clear.

Plus, what studio made those animes?

This is a Madhouse production which cements its authenticity and means that people here will buy it, and an American company will sell it.

Hmm...I see both DMC1 and DMC3 Dante designs, as well as Rebellion and Alastor. Perhaps they're combining the two games somehow?

Well, I imagine Madhouse will want to make Virgil a supporting character. The fan-girls would go mad.

Agni and Rudra from the third game need to be in it as the perfect comic relief.

I'D RATHER SEE WORD FOR WORD ADAPTATIONS FOR METAL GEAR, RESIDENT EVIL, AND THE LEGEND OF ZELDA BEFORE I SEE A DEVIL MAY CRY ANIME

Don't be a hater.

Legend of Zelda got an animated series in the 90's as I recall. Around the same time as Super Mario Brothers and the N team.

What's wrong with getting this anime? The games are awesome. Thank God Capcom saw fit to make it an anime instead of a ****ty series of Paul Anderson movies like Resident Evil.

Unknown at this point. It's got a very solid staff. The director was also the director for Black Cat which was a great series. The writing team has credits in the range of: Eureka 7, Scrapped Princess, Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Blood+. So I have now doubt the directing and writing will be competent.

I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT A S**TTY CARTOON. I'M TALKING ABOUT AN ANIME DOING AN EXTREMELY FAITHFUL ADAPTATIONS OF THE LEGEND OF ZELDA GAMES DEVELOPED BY NINTENDO EAD.

I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A WORD-FOR-WORD ADAPTATION FOR THE ENTIRE IN-CONTINUITY RESIDENT EVIL SERIES.

I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A METAL GEAR SOLID ANIME THAT IS WORD-FOR-WORD THAT BLENDS THE STORY OF THE VIDEO GAMES AND COMICS (MERYL BEING FORCED TO WATCH SNAKES TORTURE, SNAKE'S BATTLE WITH PSYCHO MANTIS, HOW OTACON FELL IN LOVE WITH SNIPER WOLF, ETC.). HOWEVER, DON'T START WITH METAL GEAR SOLID, START WITH THE FIRST STORY, METAL GEAR!

NOTHING, LIKE I ALREADY SAID, I'D LIKE TO SEE OTHER GAMES GET ANIMES THAN DEVIL MAY CRY.

So would I, but I still have no problem with a Devil May Cry anime. I'm happy things worked out thsi way.

The old cartoon wasn't that bad.

I don't think that would totally work as an anime series. And hey, talk to Capcom who let Paul Anderson make those ****ty movies. Here they made the right move giving Devil May Cry to Studio Madhouse.

Kojima apparently wants to make the movie first.

So why do you have to be an ass about people who want to see this? So what if it got one before all those others?

I agree. If this does really well then perhaps it will open the doors to a multitude of others that you WOULD really like to see.
