Post Cyclops Returns(Old Thread Closed)

Greetings,

As most of you know the old thread revolving around Cyclops/James Marsden was and is closed. Here is a new thread that shows our love for Cyclops, James Marsden, and of course news that surrounds the character and the actor that portrays him.

Starting the thread with a badass picture of Cyclops seems like a great idea to me.

Yes, it is a very Merry Christmas. I'm currently on the last level of X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse and I have Cyclops leading the way, well then again, I've had him lead the way through the entire game.

In any case, what would Scott send Fox for Christmas?

I went through X-Men Legends 2 for the first time during much of the pre-release hoopla over X-Men: The Last Stand. At that time, Scott's death was only a rumor.

Whenever I used Cyclops on my team in the game, he'd always end up dead. I just thought to myself "Wow, great omen of things to come, huh?"

Those pics you posted; just absolutley brilliant.

Cyclops in the films is very bittersweet. I think he was handled rather properly, in terms of how they showcased him as a character. But his arc was just a travesty. I don't even have any complaints about his X2 arc, because that was obviously just part of the story. But his abscence from X-Men: The Last Stand is definatley one that doesn't go unnoticed. So much could have been done with him in this film. It wouldn't have been hard to do at all. I can't believe I got my hopes up about him making it out of all of this alive.

You think that's something? Just for the sake of doing it I'd have Colossus or Rogue Fastball Special Logan into a pit, thus killing him in the process.

I think everyone who was and is a hardcore Cyclops fan got their hopes up about him showing up at the final battle. I don't think we as fans screamed loud enough about Cyclops. When Batman and Robin was released, fans continued to voice their displeasure and called for a restart or a darker sequel.

Even as we speak Megatron is having his head redesigned due to the poor reception the leaked picture received. The fans do have a voice and do have power. I just feel certain fans didn't fight as hard as they should've, and just accepted what Fox was doing because Kinberg said "we had parameters."

But at the moment I'm taking a break from battling Apocalypse and for the team; I have Cyclops, Magneto, Jean, and Gambit. That's pretty much the team I use when needing to use some distant attacks and wicked combos.

This is the promo picture that made me believe he would be at the final battle. It was released pretty close to the films release date and it made a lot of fans happy, considering how worried we were when it came to Cyclops.

Needless to say it was a malicious misleading advertising on behalf of Fox, Ratner, and Kinberg who continually kept reassuring that the leaked script went through numerous changes and that Cyclops fans would be happy.

You know, sometimes I really wonder about Fox in general. How can they neglect Marsden over Hugh Jackman? How can anyone look at pictures of Marsden as Cyclops and say he has no presence?

Guess it's no use in beating a dead horse eh? Hopefully in the future if there's an a sequel or a reboot we'll get Cyclops front and center.

And why canīt you just praise your adored Marsden without trying to trash Hugh?
Hugh is a wonderful actor and did a wonderful job as Wolverine, so leave him out of this thread if youīre only going to bash him.
You donīt see this kind of thing happening in the Hugh/Wolverine thread. Iīve never seen people bashing other actors or characters there. Itīs totally uncalled for.

Oh stop whining. I didn't bash Hugh at all. I acknowledge Hugh's talent as an actor and have heard he's quite the nice guy. I'm merely questioning why they didn't give Marsden a chance and just hyped up Hugh.

Again, this is the problem with people like you. You come in and anyone who is merely asking a question, you get defensive and feel people are trashing on Hugh. NO ONE IS TRASHING ON HUGH. They just overhyped Wolverine and basically made what was to be an all-star movie and changed it into a one-two star film.

It's because of fans like you we get a film where one person is the main star and the other suffers. This is why films like Spider-Man, Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, and Batman Begins are so much more successful than X3 will ever be. Again I'm not insulting Hugh at all, I happen to like him and think he's a cool guy.

Now please, take your non-comic book knowing mind someplace else. This thread was going along fine until you chimed in with your drivel.

Another awesome picture of Ultimate Cyclops. Does anyone have the picture of when he blasted Logan out of the window? In the end he makes a pretty cool quip saying "Your healing power is about to become of some use."

He proceeds to blast at Logan with the optic blasts while Emma and Beast look on from the window.

I know a poster recently asked for a picture of Jean/Cyclops at Alkali Lake.

I truly feel Marsden is something special. I'm not taking anything away from Hugh Jackman, however, it would've been nice to actually see Marsden prove that he has talent as well. The ending scene of X2 proves that he can definitely act and the fact that he acts without you seeing his eyes proves his talent.

I sincerely hope in the future a restart or a sequel happens which hopefully can bring back Marsden as Cyclops and have him be front and center.

Are you the owner of the thread?
Donīt act like you didnīt know what you were doing. Why did you have to mention Hugh at all in a Cyke thread, if not to make people start bashing him and/or Wolverine?
And I read the comics, genius. Iīve said that at least a million times. The problem is youīre too full of yourself to aknowledge this.
