Official Spider-Man 3 on DVD thread!

Given how quickly studios can roll movies out onto DVD, what does everyone think the dvd artwork and the estimated dvd release date will be?

I am guessing around the end of November to get the Christmas rush.

I am guessing it will be released in the future, however, I am not so impatient that I feel the need to estimate a release data prior to the actual cinema release of the film itself.

I just wanted everyone's opinion because my oldest daughter (11) loves the spiderman movies and I am kinda hoping they will have 3 out for x-mas so there could be a boxset with all 3.

I think they'll have it out in time for Christmas... they want those sales. It all depends on how long it lasts in the theatres.

when they start releasing movie on DVD BEFORE they hit theaters we've got a problem i think october

EDIT: The store that i work at has DVD rentals. And we get a piece of paper with the movies on it and the release date. Casino Royale comes out in March. That means we should see Spidey 3 on DVD in September.

Seeing that Casino Royale was in the theatres last November and is being released onto DVD in March both here in the UK and in the US in March.

And Rocky Balboa was in the theatres in the U.S. last December and now that has a March DVD release as well.

That's 3 to 4 months, so I can definately see Spider-man 3 out on DVD well before Xmas.

If it's a huge success, Sony could draw the DVD release out in order to fully capitalize on the theatrical release first -- perhaps in late November 2007. (The Spider-Man 2 DVD was released a week after Harry Potter 3 was, so a November release is definitely conceivable.)

But considering Sony and Universal are the studios that have a smaller theatrical-to-DVD window than the others, an October release is possible as well. And rest assured, they'll have a boxset with all three movies and I would almost bet money that Sony will issue out all three SM movies on Blu-ray disc at the same time too.
