He's a bit young, sure, but Harrison's old and we lovingly embrace that he'll make the role amazing as Indy.

^ I think Wahlberg was considered back when Antoine Fuqua was going to direct it. It's a shame they couldn't get Sam Worthington. He would've nailed it.

He should be ok I think. Cole Hauser would of been a better Duke.

I wanted Cole Hauser to play Zandar. Think he'd be perfect for that.
But for Duke ![]() I wanted Barry Pepper ![]() ![]() Ethan Hawke ![]() ![]() Michael Vartan ![]() ![]() Channing Tatum is just too young. You got Dennis Quaid as Hawk, so whos gonna pay attention to Duke on the Joe team then. Is it too late to rally and try to get him recast as Dusty or Lifeline? I agree with you on Cole Hauser! He should have been cast as Duke. Coincidentally, Duke's old file card says his real name is Conrad Hauser.

Damn... yeah, Cole Hauser WOULD have been awesome as Duke. I hadn't thought of that. I remember I really wanted him for Nick Fury, because he'd have been perfect. But instead we get... Samuel L. Jackson. Who will not play Nick Fury. He'll play... Samuel L. Jackson.

Well, I've said it before and I'll say it again...Nathan Fillion would have provided great screen presence and charisma in the role of Duke. But obviously, the filmakers want to go younger. So here we have some young (more importantly, young LOOKING) dude playing the guy who's supposed to be the Joe's 1ST SGT! Well, at least the actor is southern. I had heard rumors that Duke would be from NY.

Fillion has too much charisma for Duke, IMHO. I think the cocky, headstrong Flint is perfect for Fillion. It plays better to his strengths as an actor.

Well, if Duke is to be kinda the center point, then I don't think giving Duke more personality is a bad thing. In fact, I think it may well be necessary in this particular case. So Fillion is my choice.

I'd never seen this Tatum guy in anything, but they have been showing Step Up like 24/7 on Starz, so I finally got bored enough to watch it. I think he'll be fine as Duke. He has the look, and he can act just fine. He's a bit too young as many have said, but we'll see once we get a trailer or some clips.

Believe me, I proudly raise my pimp cup to the man, having bagged two of my favorite beckys. I'm just pointing out the irony of kevinpenni trying to clown someone for watching Step Up, despite having a JT avatar.

I was highly skeptical of the casting choice at first. I changed my mind when I saw that Michael Mann cast him as Pretty Boy Floyd in Public Enemies. Michael Mann has typically made great casting decisions in his films. Maybe Tatum just needs the right director/script combination. We'll see.
