Exclamation ABC Family's Batman Triple Feature

No one is gonna watch this since it's, well, Halloween. Plus, most of us have it on DVD. Still...I think it's interesting information. I was flipping through channels like 3-5 minutes ago and I see a commerical on ABC Family where they're advertising that today, starting at 4pm, they're gonna air a Batman triple feature which includes Batman, Batman Returns, and Batman Forever.

To begin with, what does Batman have to do with Halloween? Secondly, why did it take so long for a TV channel to do something like this. And, isn't amusing how Batman & Robin was excluded? lol.

I was going to point out that exactly.

Maybe they don't have the broadcast rights to B&R just yet. And batman has lots to do with halloween. think of the numerous costumed bodies out there inspired by batman. Plus its family fare as opposed to the standard horror films.

It's rather odd that Batman Returns would be airing on ABC Family in the first place. The biggest knock that Tim Burton and company received for that movie was that it wasn't kid friendly enough.

It's basic cable television, TMC1982. They probably cut out or trimmed all the scenes that went to far.

Hence Why they cut Batman & Robin from the marathon

You'd be surprised what ABC Family has shown in the past.

Nobody bothers to mention that Batman Returns is a Christmas movie? Just because one of Burton's films bridged the gap between Halloween and Christmas* doesn't mean that all of his movies can or should.

*otherwise known as "school with a kinda vacation for Thanksgiving, but it doesn't really count, 'cause you've always got more homework and your family came by and they're annoying".

Batman Returns is a mix of Halloween elements with Christmas. Batman Returns has Halloween-esque costumes, characters and architecture during the Christmas season.

Which Burton has already done in at least one other movie, so there IS a precedent.

Without it, we wouldn't have Nolan's films.

Even funnier IMO is the over the top reactions from the hardcore Batman fans to this promo. They're foaming at the mouth with anger over it. Priceless.

As cheesy as that promo was it doesn't change the fact that BB is the most lighthearted of Nolan trilogy.

Well yeah. But the film gave ABC Family an inch, and ABC Family took like 20 miles. It was hilarious though. I'd LOVE to see them try to promote TDK, lol.
