Sounding more and more like Spectacular Spider-Man, which was a Sony Pictures cartoon btw.

Interesting, I'm glad the casting was for Gwen and not some made up character like they were suggesting before.

Stupid high school.
But I won't take that as a confirmation.

It being in high school is probably a BETTER idea than college. (For the first movie at least) |

What happened to the rumours that they would set the movie in university because they knew fans thought Garfield looked too old for high school? Meh. Either way, I'm in.
The idea of both MJ and Gwen in the movie has me intrigued though. Hopefully if they go for a love triangle, he picks Gwen. We've already seen him with MJ, and there'll be plenty of time for them to get together after the Green Goblin kills Gwen. :P |

^ Hopefully they just keep it SSM style Gwen being the main love interest and MJ being a friend.
Also, those rumors came from Drew McWeeny from HitFix(whose sources aren't always credible) Remember, those are the same guys that once said Logan Lerman was locked for Peter Parker lol. |

Which is a shame. She is not MJ.

Stone is all wrong for MJ. Mary Jane is supposed to be a 10. Emma Stone is a 7 on a good day.
I say Ashley Greene for Mary Jane.

Emma Stone's more cute than hot, but she's proven to be a good actress. How do we know that Emma Stone won't be Gwen Stacy? Stone's a natural blonde, something that many people overlook. |

It doesn't matter which actress they cast, if the wardrobe, hair and make up artists screw up, we'll still be complaining.

Still not thrilled at the idea of high school, but on the bright side, I do generally like the way Spectacular Spider-man handled things, so if they are using that as a model, I think it could be good. And if those two actresses are for Gwen and MJ, I could live with those casting choices as well (neither would be my top picks, but they're both good actresses who could fit the characters well-enough, imo).

I suggested Emma Stone as Mary Jane a good three years ago.
