I didn't see any offical threads for DD so I thought I'd start one. So I am excited about the new series from Mark Waid and very interested in what he's got planned. Seems like this might just be the breath of fresh air that old Horn Head needs. Though I am confused why they didn't get Andy Diggle back. His run was really good and I really liked Shadowland. I was told DD Reborn is good but i did'nt get to read it yet. I know Diggle is a darker writer but I'm willing to bet he'd do a pretty good job writing the ligher sie of DareDevil. So anyway I'm glad to see the lighter side of DD because I was a big fan of Karl Keasel's run an others like his. Don't get me wrong I love me some Frank Miller/Brian Bendis/Ed Brubaker style DD but it's a very nice change.....once awhile.

I remember seeing someone on a board saying somthin to the affect of "Marvel is just trying to make DareDevil like Spider-man" and my only comment to that is at least they're not trying to make him out to be Batman.

I'm really digging Paolo Rivera's pencils! His DD has a classic Wally Wood-John Romita Sr-charm!!

Well that is...that is...that looks FRIGGIN AWESOME. Holy crap this book is going to rock. I'm glad Marvel is getting back to putting good creative teams on books like Hickman/ Epting FF4, Bendis/Maleev Moon knight, Brubaker/ Mcniven Captain America, Fraction Coipel Thor, Rucka/ Cecchetto Punisher and now we've got this Waid/Rivera/ Martin doing Daredevil, cannot wait for this book.

Paolo Rivera is beyond a shadow of a doubt the most creative artist in all of comics. Marcos Martin is no slouch either. Add a Hall of Fame writer in Mark Waid, it's a recipe for success.

I hope marvel doesnt screw up on this one, and what i mean by that is only have Paulo and Martin on for like only 6 issues then leave. I want a FULL run with these guys on the book like Bendis and Maleev and Brubaker and Lark. Marvel's been getting sloppy with regulating their artists lately (Epting only did 3 issues of FF and he's already leaving.)

I may check this out, I'm not sure yet. Big fan of Waid, but have never really got into Daredevil as a character.

Well they've got TWO artists working on the book, i dont see any excuse as to why they shouldnt be able to keep a monthly schedule. Honestly, I'll be satisfied if we can at least get a full 12 issues out of them. But preferably it'd be awesome to get around 24 or so. Alex Maleev is a slow artist and he did like 50 issues with Bendis.

That said, having two artists on regular rotation from the get-go is smart, and they hopefully will have enough lead-in time. Martin was drawing ASM until very recently, after all.

Daredevil joins the Avengers and Bendis's Daredevil: End of Days is finally coming out.
How many years has it been since End of Days was first announce? Can't wait to finally get my hands on it

Oh yeah, I forgot he did The Marvels Project with Brubaker in between Cap and FF. It's been 2 years since he left Cap....

I'm excited about this but I just hope Mark Waid doesn't make it to "bright and sunny".

I started this thread back when Bru began his run: http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=224692 and it was continued here: http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=347923 I'm not trying to derail your thread. I just thought you might see what people were saying in the recent past regarding ol' hornhead. I am looking forward to both Waid and Martin. I hope we can get some normal superheroing and Lawyering....

It's pleasing to see Marvel bringing back these characters' series. Daredevil most of all looks like a classy comic. I'll buy it for sure.

I have to admit, I wasn't planning on trying this DAREDEVIL relaunch, but every time I see a peak or an interview, it looks interesting. It's going to launch in July, and Marvel's clogging the market, though. The artwork does look great, though, and I agree it would be nice if they could keep a creative team together on a relaunch for a while.
