Gamemasters/Assistant Gamemasters already chosen: For this RPG I’ll be reffering to myself and any assistants as Dungeon Masters or DMs.

How will the overall layout of the RPG be?: I believe that this RPG will be very different from what HYPE has seen in the past. This game will have a lot of inspiration drawn for the popular table top RPG Pathfinder. Borrowing rules, playable races, and certain locals.

Premise of RPG, if it is a user created RPG see below for applicable additions to this Applicaton, (Must be a paragraph or longer). This will be a very narrative based RPG with every “season” taking place in a different location of the world. Every season will start with a post from one of the DMs introducing important NPCs or a plot hook for that season. Despite being a very narrative based RP the players will decide the overall outcome for each season.

What will this RPG bring to the RPG forums? (please write two complete sentences): I plan on this being an extremely in depth fantasy RPG, with a full world map (almost completed it actually) and many unique races and monsters. Along with the world I hope this RPG will be unique and give many players old and new something to talk about for a long time.

Example Of Characters Application: The character application process will be very different from what I’ve seen on HYPE so far. Players will be able to create any kind of character they’d like however all characters must be based off a set of rules. When creating a character one must choose a race, class, and alignment. Certain races will have favored classes depending on their build, for instance it wouldn’t make sense for a hulking Minotaur to be a wizard. However, if that’s what you want to create then provided you can make the character make sense then go for it! Also, certain classes will have to follow certain alignments but we’ll talk more on that later.
I’ll have a full character application along with a small list of playable races and classes in the days to come. I understand that this won’t get accepted anytime soon but until then any feedback and ideas are welcome.
And as I’ve said before I’ll have the map of the world along with a detailed list of the nations, races, and classes asap!

Cool, I'll definitely have a map up ASAP it's near completion. And I'll most likely have a small list of classes and races before the end of the week. Nothing big but it'll be a nice teaser.

We already had an RPG similar to this, and I believe that trusty has actually been coming up with a REALLY big and involved fantasy world RPG to apply with as well. I'm not trying to shoot you down, but I'll be honest: I'd rather play something like this which doesn't garner a lot of attention anyway with a DM that I know and trust from the hype, rather than a newbie. <3

It's totally understandable. But I do plan on trying. The world is completed. I just gotta get the map straight. Hopefully after I get all this together I can show you guys I'm just a 'noob' to hype and not to world building or RP.

edit: Doesn't look like I can post pictures yet. I guess until then I can give you guys a list of the nations and their histories. Plus I can post races and classes up in the meantime too.

The main thing is that this type of game requires that a lot of things be laid out and defined, especially since you are basing some of it on a real table-top game. The previous game was the Gods & Men RPG which was very heavily D&D based. That game was approved because the GMs of that game very clearly defined the world and all the things you can and cannot do and the magic system and creatures.

Currently with your application all we know is that it is a fantasy type of game and you have a map for the world. But even when you provide the map you will need more IMO.

Wow. byrd is being very...un-byrd. Though he is right I'm just saying haha. You'd think that it would make more sense if byrd's and SF's posts were switched.

This post aside, this game has been tried before. There was that one fantasy game that died, then we revived it, then it died again when the new GM went AWOL. But as Shlee mention I--my nickname here is trusty--have been working on a game that was originally up for grabs back in February but I lost the vote to one of Catman's games.

I just got back from vacation and that is the only reason I did not post up the application last week because I wouldn't have been able to respond to potential questions people will have. But I will have the application up sometime today it depends how busy I am at work.

So I apologize if it bugs you but I intend to put my fantasy game up for application as well and back in February at least there were about 10 people who wanted to play. I would love it if you guys end up playing as well if my game outvotes yours and vice versa.

It is hardly a case of class versus class. Veteran gamers get proposals shot down all the time, and with usually good reason. The fact of the matter is, we're just experiencing a period where another game wouldn't be necessarily received well because we're trying to balance out the ones that we already have.

In the case of this particular game, there's a reason that people have weighed in so vehemently - this type of game has been attempted before, and didn't last very long. That has nothing to do with who is trying to start the game, that has everything to do with the concept itself. So please, try to understand where everyone's coming from.
