Because a lot of them seem to be based on two premises:

1: This is a trait inherent to most/all women.

2: Being nice to and supportive of a woman makes you entitled to be in a relationship with them.

These premises are kinda sexist.

1. Traits can be inherent to a group of people, that's why men and women are different.

2. Being nice to a woman doesn't entitle you to anything. But it is rather obnoxious when women constantly complain about there being "no good guys", but when the good guy comes around, the woman will never consider him anything more than just a friend, often leading him on in the process.

Other than the need to eat, breath, sleep and the fact that you will eventually die that statement is mostly false. Nearly all parts of our behavior, personality, and values are learned.

I can think of five instances within the last 3-4 years off the top of my head. One of them included me. Three of the girls in question were, objectively, quite tappable.

In any event, that doesn't prove that "friend zoning" is a trait that all or even most women have.

Well you can't really say something like that and expect it to go unanswered. The people that make jokes about it are really just pointing out the irony. The concept in itself is already a joke, really. Like someone standing in a pizzeria and saying "I can sure go for some pizza right now. Shame I can't find any."
