Someone explain to me WHY THE HELL Wonder woman needs guns?

She is Wonder Woman! Why the hell would she need guns? (in the recent cover of her book) That is incredibly stupid!

DC continues to push me away towards Marvel and Dynamite.

lets see:

screwed up Hawkman - check
screwed up Superman - check
screwed up Flash - check
screwed up Earth 2 = check
screwed up power girl - check
screw up wonder woman - check

ONLY good things are Batgirl and suicide squad.

The book isn't out... We can't answer that. You also haven't read anything on Earth 2 or Power Girl to know they screwed up. And there's not a damn thing wrong with Superman or Flash. I have no problem with Wonder Woman, but I was never a purist. I agree with you on Hawkman though.

Action Comics and Flash are two of the best books DC is putting out right now. Wonder Woman has been good. Power Girl was always kind of screwed up and Earth 2 hasn't come out yet.

They are the pistols of Eros, the Greek God of Love. It's basically a modern version of Cupid's bow and arrow. How about you read a little bit before freaking out? Batgirl and Suicide Squad are two of the worst books of the relaunch btw.

Throughout Wonder Woman's run, we've seen the Greek Gods modernize with the times. We've seen Athena using a laptop and Ares wearing Italian suits and concocting plans involving modern military hardware.

You ask why Eros needs guns. In the original myths he used a bow and arrow. Him having guns is the same thing, just with a modern aesthetic.

And finally, Eros' bow and arrow couldn't kill anyone, they made people lustful for one another. I'm assuming the same is true for his guns.

Perhaps the pantheon of gods, who were evolving side-by-side with humanity on technological scales, saw the bow and thought "y'know what? This'll never go out of style. Like shoulder pads, suede caps and the moonwalk."

Yes, it's about her connection to the Greek Gods who are living in modern times. It's not as if they stopped seeing the world around them. I bet you're one of the people who didn't like Marvel's Ares using guns. And why would Eros need a bow and arrow? He's a God. The Greek Gods used the weaponry of the time, it makes sense that they would continue to do so. If things worked like you're thinking they would have been throwing rocks at each while the humans were using the modern tech of the time like swords and bows.

As everyone's said don't read it if you don't like it. The gods using modern weaponry makes sense. Also, I hope you're enjoying your overpriced comics, the bombardment of .1 issues and the double, or even triple, shipping that Marvel does to rip you off without even throwing in extra pages for the $1 more you're paying for most of their books.

ONLY good things are Batgirl and suicide squad.

I read the first 2 issues of Suicide Squad because I like Deadshot, and Deadshot was about the only part I really remember.

I just wasn't impressed and it felt like a C-grade replacement for Secret Six to be honest. I picked up the most recent issue because the current arc delves into Harley Quinn's origin and she's my wife's favorite comic character of all time so she wanted to read it naturally. It was better than the first issue but it still doesn't wow me like Secret Six or the old Suicide Squad stories.

They did use guns in the Golden Age to play "Bullets vs. Bracelets".

That said, it does look stupid, but i don't care about the new 52 one way or another. the DC that mattered and worked was Pre-Crisis, the rest is acrophya.

i love wonder woman, i love azzarello, and i love chiang....but the new 52 wonder woman has been less than entertaining. im sure whatever reason for the guns will continue to be less than entertaining.
