You can't really see what he's firing at and Hawkeye's arrows serve a variety of purposes so who knows if he's actually trying to simply blow his target up.

I think the JLA movie whenever it's released it's going to be more of a spectacle than The Avengers, simply because DC tends to go all out with their characters powers.
Plus the superhero lineup for JLA are going to be more powerful than The Avengers line up in this film.

It's not that it won't work, but that WB will not commit to a JLA movie due to the fact that they don't really pay attention to nor invest heavily on superhero genre movies except for Batman, and I doubt they would make an except for JLA even though it has Batman in it. However, if The Avengers crack a billion WW in the box office, WB might be tempted to give it a shot.

Wally West Flash most certainly was the most powerful member. Probably followed by J'onn, then Supes.

It could work.
Batman could be the first superhero in the world and Superman and all the others came after him. Also, Batman needs to lead the team. It doesn't make sense for Superman to be the leader... just because he's a good guy. He doesn't have any experience at leadership. And let Brad Bird to write and direct the film. He would be perfect for the job. |

I could've sworn Green Lantern was considered more powerful than Superman.

Don't forget The Avengers do have Thor and Hulk, who are just as powerful as the most powerful members of JLA.

Why is this in the Avengers forum?
But yeah, he would work in a Justice League film.

I think the answer about him having different arrows is good enough, but maybe still a bit of a stretch. I doubt any company would want to give life insurance to a guy who gets himself into those types of situations...

Anyone who says a JLA film with Batman wouldn't work needs to get out of their narrow hallway of a mind.
The Avengers has proven to everyone that a Justice League film is most definitely possible. I love the Burton and Nolan Batman films and the 1st Superman film but that's essentially all that has come out from WB/DC that's quality (Watchmen was great too but I'm talking specifically about the main canon here). It's a shame that they have great characters just rotting away due to a lack of courage and vision when it comes to making a cohesive world. WB/DC have had a great run with the standalone Nolan films but once that wraps up this year they should seriously consider in adapting a similar strategy that Marvel studios did in terms of approaching franchise building. It'll pay off in the long run and we'll get to see characters like Flash, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Superman and Batman eventually get together and form the Justice League.

I think the OP is perhaps unintentionally misrepresenting the criticisms of the JLA movie: it's not that Batman doesn't have powers (otherwise the JLA wouldn't work in the comics or cartoons either), it's that the current incarnation of Batman takes place in a setting where it is more or less established that supernatural things are not possible. No aliens, no mutants, no mythology. That's the argument for a real JLA movie not happening.
I don't agree with this argument; I would love to see Bale and Cavill in a JLA movie together, but the argument should be represented fairly.

Batman is what makes the JLA work....otherwise they are all just a bunch of powerhouses....if you notice, the JLA toons center their stories around Batman because that brings it back to earth. Besides, he is the "brains" of the outfit; always thinking one step ahead of the others in every way. I think the best thing they could do is follow the avengers route....

I remember reading someone saying it here and I totally agree with the point that what happens is "Justice League turns Batman into Superman".
In fact reading the comics, Batman is the most powerful member in the JLA. With members like Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, a mere mortal is actually the most powerful member of the Justice League. While someone like Hawkeye is just a complimentary piece, Batman is basically #1A or #1B to Superman. You're not going to see Hawkeye go toe to toe with Thanos or even Loki or anything like that and yet people would still be fine with it since he's not that big of a character compared to Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, or Hulk. But if Batman doesn't try to fight Darkseid or the main villain in a JLA film, people would complain that he doesn't get the right amount of love and respect like the other heroes would. That's why in the comic books, you always see Batman go toe to toe with Darkseid, Solomon Grundy, and even Superman himself, and he manages to either win or not die. Amazing. In fact just read this: Superman/Batman #39 LINK: How the f--- does Batman survive a Super Punch by Superman!? ![]() ![]() ![]()

Superman is the leader, he's the icon, he's the one who all heroes, including Batman, look up to. He's the Captain America of DC.
What experience does Batman have in leading? He's mainly a lone wolf. |
