This thread is self-explanatory. What do you want the Ninja Turtles to look like?

No beaks, and don't make them grotesque looking.

More turtle-like than their previous incarnations, personally. No beaks though.

I'm not really sure what to expect out of this. What bothers me is that they'll be CGI.

Did you see Planet of the Apes?
I can't wait for a performance capture group of Turtles.

If it's WETA or ILM, I'm not worried too much. If it's Sony Imageworks, then we should all get worried.

CGI is definitely the way to go. You can do so much more now.

I think we've gotten much better but you just need the right people, the right amount of time, and the right director.

The work on Planet of The Apes is amazing. I suppose I prefer the suits and animatronics like the first film, it feels more tangible. If they looked great back in the 80's I'm sure it would look even better now.

Could always give them a cameo, with people dressing up as turtles, a la the Dark Knight Batman copies.

I'm for animatronics as well, but let's face it: Only guys now like del Toro are willing to do it for some odd reason.

I'd like to see something akin to this. An eastern/Japanese feel, with each turtle having his own look, and a more turtle like appearance.

I liked the idea of Leonardo speaking Japanese to Splinter (since they're closest). Or throw in a few Japanese words.

Best designs I have seen for a redesign. Old look is played out. I mean, you guys that want the original look do realize that they would all be wearing the same color bandana right and all look identical. IMO those redesigns really inject character into each turtle before they even speak onscreen. I just think there needs to be more than 4 naked turtles with a diff color bandana.

I wouldn't really mind if there were little tweaks here and there that further differentiated the TMNT, but I don't want these tweaks to go overboard. I still want the characters and how they generally have always looked to still be recognizable. I understand this is a new interpretation and that new things can and should be tried, but I think there's a right way to do it and a totally wrong way to do it.
As a fan of the Turtles films from the '90s, I loved the live-action animatronic costumes, but I really think that CG may be the best way to go for this film. With everything that can be done with CGI these days and how realistic the TMNT can be made to look, I see no reason to go back and use a style that was already used twenty years ago. Would make it a lot easier to have some epic battles, too. Last edited by The /; 03-30-2012 at 05:21 AM. |

I like the neckless. It reminds me of a Buddhist monk type figure, something which i think suits Leo's personality.

I kinda like it because it's not overdone. Who's the artist again?
