Spider-men??

Who else is excited for the new Bendis penned series coming in June? I am tired of being teased and want an outline at least!

Does anyone have any theories as to what this will be?

(I'd post the teaser posters but I am mobile right now.)

I'm guessing it'll be about more than one spider-man. Perhaps several spider-men.

Bendis tweeted today it's going to be announced through some big media outlet on Wednesday the 11th.

it's touted as a big landmark event....

therefore most people are guessing it is a 616 Pete and ultimate Miles crossover being the first 616 / Ultimate event and setting up a Marvel 616 / Ultimate huge event in about 2 years.

I know a lot of people say that will never happen, but with the gimmicks Marvel is using to pump up sales, they really can't afford to pass on that ace up their sleeve at some point.

Course now that some people are on to this Bendis will probably change it like he did with Ronin / Daredevil

well aside from some decent treading water, the Ultimate U is basically all messed up anyways.

I think Marvel has been planning to one day do a crossover despite the denial..they teased it long ago with the Wolverine Vs Hulk visions.

Definitely. Where as each Arch for Amazing is a hit or miss for me (mostly hits, recently) Ultimate Spider-man was constant enjoyment (and still is).

At one point didn't they say Miles has Ties to Peter Parker? What if that was a tease to this up coming 616/ultimate crossover event instead of what we've seen in Ultimate Comics Spider-man so far?

I like Ultimate Spider-man. It's the only Ultimate comic I like. I prefer Bendis's writing over a lot of others and I think he did a fantastic job with Ultimate Spider-man. If there is a Marvel Cross Over between 616 and Ultimate then I'm quite excited.

Hasn't 616 Marvel already sort of crossed over with Ultimate Marvel? I could've sworn that the Reed Richards from both universes met at some point.

Also, Spider-Men is the perfect example of how Marvel's advertising just flat out irritates me. How the hell am I going to get excited over something when they are constantly putting out teasers of something "big" going to happen while not giving me any information of what it's going to be about. I don't know what Spider-Men is going to be about. I don't know what Fraction and Aja's project is going to be. I don't know who is working on Gambit or what it will be about.

Knowing Marvel they are setting up for a merging of the 616 and Ultimate universes...their excuse for bringing Gwen back to 616 without "resurrecting" her. Yeah, I know it is stupid, but look at all the other stupid stuff Marvel and/or Bendis has done recently.

If what I predicted actually happens I will have that reaction. Just because I posted about it does not mean I think it is a good idea.

As for love/hate of Bendis, after Bagley left Ultimate, the book started to slowly slide downhill quality-wise. I loved the original run, but I lose more and more interest with each new issue. Bendis ran out of ideas, so he killed Peter, then he realized he made a mistake in putting the mantle on a kid with no guiding figure to put him on the right path...so he has to bring in the original Spidey to clean up the mess he created.

I don't think it's a merger entirely, I think it might just be a quick cross over if anything and did you really have to bring Gwen into this? : P

Also, what's with everyone either loving or hating Bendis? Personally, I love his work with Spider-man. >.>

So its offcial, its a crossover between 616 Spidey and Miles Morales. I for one am all for it! I really don't understand why everyone is hating on this, all because of some passing comment Joe Quesada made a decade ago? I think this is a great idea to have these two different Spider-men meet, and I imagine Miles would learn alot of Peter Parker and maybe vice versa. I think they should've done this a long time ago, i dont know why everyone's hatin'.

Well, we don't know if it's that just yet but I'm completely on board as well. Miles needs a good figure in his life right now. Especially considering his Uncle has been an ass, his dad is pretty much against super heroes and the only person supporting him is Genki who really can't understand or comprehend any of what is happening

Seriously though, this sounds like a fun story. I always thought that no 616/ultimate crossover stuff was silly. I wonder how Peter will feel when he finds out that his ultimate counterpart died.
