Default Cyclops Pulverize Adamantium

Hello All
I was digging thru some old hard drives, and i found a bunch of comic book scans. Amongst them was this gem of a panel indicating that Cyclops can Pulverize Adamantium.
Just thought i'd share this with everyone. It's the yellow box on the right. It reads:
"Cursed with uncontrollable Optic blasts capable of PULVERIZING ADAMANTIUM"

http://www.comicvine.com/myvine/numb...2/105-2319485/

Cyclops Pulverize Adamantium
Cyclops Capable of Pulverizing Adamantium
Cyclops shoot thru Adamantium
Cyclops blast Adamantium
Cyclops break Adamantium

One of my all time favourite issues.

Crom - Cyke's awesome in Claremont's first run (X-Men #94-141, Uncanny #142-175). You can get these cheap in the 'Essential X-Men' TPBs. You can also get Essential X-Factor which, from the first issue, has Cyke leading the original X-Men and is well worth a read.

For more modern stuff Cyke's pretty bad-ass in Joss Whedon's 'Astonishing X-Men' run (Astonishing X-Men #1 - 24) as well as 'Secret Invasion: X-Men', 'Avengers/X-Men: Utopia', 'Messiah Complex' and 'Second Coming' - all of which can be bought as TPBs.

I never noticed it before, thanks for sharing, though I will be content as long as the writers can just tell his optic blasts and Superman's laser apart.

HEY! This is the perfect thread. Cyclops is one of the few "heros" from Marvel I like.

Where can I read his adventures/place where hes most influential at?

Hiya folks, first time for me here, read little of X-Men

What is with the ruby quartz glasses Scott puts on to hold his laser back? The handles of his glasses aren't attached in a way to keep them steady enough on his ears so the laser won't push the glasses off of his face

I'm under the impression that ruby quartz isn't just resistant to the energy from Scott's eyes, but actually nullifies its effect as well. I think it does it by absorbing the energy.

X characters dialogue to Scott these days seems limited to "yadda, yadda, yadda, you killed Xavier."

So I really want to see a rematch between Scott and Captain Americas shield, in my book, a get off my lawn blast from Scott should damage the shield if not flat out shatter it. Scott really needs to be shown the respect he deserves, whether that means allowing scott to gain full control of his powers for once or at least writing him that hes willing to use his full power. At full strength there should be very few things if anything that can take his optic blast.

I actually like Scott and want him to either slap or shake all those other hypocrites post AVX!!! No matter what he's evolved over the years to a strong/teacher /leader/superhero/solider all of which he was trained to be.

I like when writers actually let Scott respond to some of the hypocritical BS that gets thrown his way

That really happened? Ignoring everything Wolverine has done is bad enough, but all of that happened and only Scott gets blamed for his actions?

It's probably more expected of brainwashed Bucky, Wolverine and former Soviet (or at least now Russian, I'm not sure) spy Black Widow. Although were she is concerned did she ever actually kill before her Ultimate version and her cinema version came about? I think with the boy scout Scott it was never comprehend that he could do such things.

Yep, for two reasons. Firstly, he was teleported to that scene while cooking and still had the pan in his hand. Secondly, he's a badass.

Thor killed an evil voided-out sentry, Bucky and Natasha only killed when they were working for the russians, and Cap has freaked out about logan's past numerous times, most recently in UA where he refused to continue working with Logan after finding out about X-Force (they'll wind up back together but that's beside the point)

Cyclops's moral superiority of late is getting really grating.
just like an a**hole to constantly scream "I know you are but what am I?" at everyone

Cyclops is a douche
You know when you can't agree with somebody, even if they have valid points, just because they're such a dick about it?
That's how I feel about Cyke, Uncanny X-Men, and the New Xavier school.

That said, at least he's a much more interesting douche than the teen Cyclops.

I'd much rather read a Modern Cyclops solo than this crap they're puttin' out.
Between this and Wolverine's awful solo, it's amazing that Nightcrawler written by Chris Claremont has a chance to be the best X-solo coming out

I love what they've been doing with Cyclops since Utopia. It's the first time I'm finding him interesting as a character.

I love the new direction with Cyclops, not because I enjoy seeing his fall, but because it seems to be a rather logical end. X-Men has been THE only consistent line coming from Marvel. Ever since The House of M, Marvel has really taken those consequences to their logical end with the Messiah Complex and Avengers vs. X-Men.

Cyclops has become something he used to hate, but we have had the privilege of awesome story telling showing us how Cyclops went from this Xavier-like idealist to this Magneto-esque pragmatist. To Cyclops, the situation is no longer about the dream of a peaceful co-existence, but instead it is about the preservation of his people, an endangered species. Cyclops has become a radical and a revolutionary because all of his struggles have made him weary and a pessimist. It's great writing and I love the fact that this entire moment in X-Men history is culled from an event from a decade ago.

I'm all about the new Uncanny X-Men and a Cyclops teamed with Emma, both having the sort of school for mutants they would wish to have. It's almost like a redemption for Frost after she lost her school. Just epic, epic stuff.
