I can see the resemblance. I wouldn't mind if he actually plays Thanos in the sequel. He has a good voice for it and he has experience working under prosthetic make up.

I think Thanos was created using motion capture. Judging by that actor's facial profile and Thanos' during the mid-credits scene, it certainly wouldn't be hard to believe they used Damion Poitier as the base.
