I agree. TASM was good, but I wouldn't put it above the first Raimi film and it's definitely not better than SM 2.

Since I'm not a huge fan of Raimi's films, I expect to like this more than all of those. That's not to say that I expect to love it, there are things I'm still worried about when reading reviews.

Well, I loved Raimi's films, so for it to be on level with those is impressive. Hopefully, it will be.

I'd rather compare this film to the likes of Avengers and Iron Man, because I don't need too much from this film to like it more than Raimi's. If this film is as good as Iron Man, then that would be absolutely great to me as I love that film! If it's as good as Avengers, then that's even better. Which I don't even dare to expect.

How can you compare an origin film to the Avengers, a team up movie?

I'm not comparing it to detail like that, what I mean is that if I find this film as enjoyable as that one, then that's a huge success

I am at least confident it will be better than SM3.

If it is similar to SM1, it is only in terms of the origin story. This movie has better special effects, a funnier Spider-Man, etc. So I can't imagine it being anything less.

I think all of the kids in the audience will love the movie, especially since they didn't grow up with SM1 like my generation did.

I like ranking movies.

I find it interesting and very revealing where people stand on certain franchises and genres. If I were an Alien fan I'd make a ranking thread to include Prometheus. But that thread would have far more predictable results than this thread.

In my one thread of what we think TAS-M will be better amongst Raimi's trilogy, I still hope it's better than Spider-Man 3. That's all I can cling unto now.

It just depends what you thought of SM1 and SM2.

If you thought those movies were classic masterpieces then yeah ASM will probably fall short.

But if your like the majority of RT users who gave SM1 a 65%, ASM could finish in the top 2.

Since when were RT users at all reliable? They probably rated the film lower because of SM3.
