Default Plan out the sequels to Amazing Spider-Man

In this thread, just create a simple overview of what will happen over the course of the next two or more films. I am going to sum up the main elements of The Amazing Spider-Man that are being used to set up the sequel.

1. In TASM, we were given the origin to Spider-Man. His parents left him as a kid for an unknown reason, and died in a plane crash. His father worked with Dr. Connors to create a formula to regenerate lost limbs (and he also bred the Spiders in that room from Oscorp that Peter sneaks into), but it also turns out that they were trying to find a cure for a dying Norman Osborn. Whether or not the whole "Ang Lee" origin is true or not, it was taken out of the movie, and I assume that it will be ignored from now on. "It never happened."

2. Dr. Ratha also must have a bigger role in all of this, but for now he is just an employee of Norman Osborn that is trying to make sure the cure is given to him before it is too late. Whatever the cure ends up being, it is probably what turns Norman into the Green Goblin.

3. Peter Parker saved the spider that bit him in a test tube, so its possible he will bring the spider back to investigate or do experiments on to find out how it gave him powers without killing him or turning him into a giant Spider. Heck, perhaps they will go that route and have Peter morph into a giant Spider like in the comic books? I doubt it though.

4. Peter and Gwen's relationship has been developed, and I think the way the movie ended may lead into a love triangle between Spider-Man, Gwen Stacey, and Mary Jane.

5. Captain Stacey's last lines foreshadowed the death of Gwen Stacey.

6. While it still isn't confirmed, the man in the shadows is most likely Norman Osborn. In the comic books, Norman always appeared as a mysterious man "in the shadows" that wore a trench coat and hat, which is what we saw in this movie. He asks Connors if he told the boy "the truth about his father?" which means there is a lot more to the disappearance of Peter's parents. Maybe they are still alive? Did they fake their deaths? Were they working on something even bigger that we don't know about?

Using this information, what do you think the next two films will cover in this new Spider-Man universe?

I think the next film should continue to build on Peter and Gwens story and also introduce Harry Osborn(Played by Alex Russell IMO) and maybe Mary Jane. Also have Norman introduced into the movie but as just that not as a Goblin or anything until maybe the end setting him up for the 3rd film.

As far as villains go Mysterio would be cool for this one, maybe has someone like Vulture in there 2.

Then the next film would be the Norman/Goblin story which ultimately results in Gwens demise. I think Peter may have already had some contact with MJ before this.

I think the sequel should have the Green Goblin in it. I don't think Gwen should die in the last film in the trilogy. Unless they plan to do four films, then maybe save her death for the third movie.

The Web of Spider-Man:

The NYPD and Spider-Man have been trying to suppress gangland violence near some harbours. The gangsters at war are Black Tarantula and Tombstone.

Eddie Brock is an idealistic photojournalist who has gained some renown for exposing corruption within the local governments of small foreign countries. He stumbled onto one of Black Tarantula's human trafficking operations and followed a lead to New York. No one except the Bugle will hire him, as the higher ups are in Black Tarantula's pocket.

Peter Parker does freelance work for the Bugle, providing pictures of Spider-Man and the NYPD's attempts to quell the turf war between Tombstone and Black Tarantula. He also gets a job at OsCorp in an attempt to learn more about his parents.

At the Bugle, Peter and Eddie meet. They like each other and decide to use Peter's connection with OsCorp to help Eddie get inside to figure out the Black Tarantula's relationship to OsCorp. However, Eddie has some reservations about Peter, in spite of his story. He wonders if Peter might not be one of OsCorp's agents, sent to gain his trust then make him disappear.

Dr. Ratha is overseeing the development of a machine meant to refine an old project of OsCorp's, a cure for cancer. A team brought in to wire it up is led by Max Dillon. During the work, a corporate spy from Octavius Industries sabotages the work. In the accident, Max Dillon gains his powers.

In a dark dream, Dillon returns to his childhood and we learn about his overbearing mother. He snaps under her constant dottage, but instead of hitting her, he electrocutes her. The horror of it snaps him back to conciousness. He's in a morgue. Electro frees himself. He then sets out on a vendetta against the social tyrants, whose grip on New York he likens to his overbearing mother.

Working late at OsCorp, Peter sees one of Black Tarantula's lieutenants, Herman Schultz, making a delivery to Ratha: humans from one of the third world countries the Tarantula operated in. The operation is interrupted by Electro, who frees the human cargo and sends Schultz fleeing.

Eddie Brock is sleuthing around the docks when Schultz arrives and begins shouting for his men to mobilize.

Peter suits up and follows Electro to the docks, where Schultz has just arrived and began mobilizing his thugs and hoods. Soon the NYPD arrives and along with Spider-Man engage in a firefight against Electro and the scared hoods. Eddie gets some great pictures and makes off with them.

The next day a weary Peter presents his pictures, which are nowhere near as good as the ones Eddie got. Some of his implicate OsCorp; Peter warns Eddie against directly calling out OsCorp. This makes Eddie slightly angry, so Peter drops the matter.

Norman Osborn calls a meeting of his closest people, including the man who spoke to Connors. He tasks this man, Chameleon, with checking up on their Norweigan facility. The other, Allistair Smythe, is appraised of the progress on their new security system. Smythe reports it is nearing completion.

In a public event, OsCorp presents the NYPD with proto Spider-Slayers to help them combat the threat of Electro. Electro learns of this, and launches an attack on the NYPD headquarters. In the battle, Electro uses his powers to split himself and enter the proto Spider-Slayers, turning them on the NYPD.

Peter is forced to seek out Gwen at Octavius Industries. She left OsCorp after the events of TASM and began studying technical engineering and got an internship at Octavius Industries. With her help, Peter manages to defeat Electro. Since Electro's rampage, the gangland violence between Black Tarantula and Tombstone had died down. Thus he considers persuing a relationship with her.

Eddie returns to his apartment and finds Herman Schultz waiting for him. Schultz roughs Eddie up pretty badly, before abducting him.

In Norway, Chameleon comes upon what appears to be the ruins of an old laboratory in the middle of a snowy wasteland. He enters a section of the lab sequestered from the rest of it. An OsCorp agent there remarks that the Cure has been fairly docile. Chameleon enters the shadows of the ruined facility. Later, at night, he emerges with a cargo vessel containing a writhing black substance.

The Story Concludes in The Spectacular Spider-Man

In the comic books, Norman Osborn was originally shown as a mysterious figure wearing a trench coat and hat, and he was always hiding in the shadows. Come on... this has to be Norman.

Is it a legal possibility that Marc Webb's Spidey can crossover into the Avengers? I know there's the mess with the rights and all, but I honestly don't see why they rebooted Spidey in the fashion they did. If they reboot Spidey AGAIN in mind of the Avengers I will be pretty upset. Garfield is a money Peter Parker and I love the image of Spiderman that we now have.

Legally I assume its possible for them to make some kind of deal. And I do honestly hope so. However, I have made my peace with the fact that they might not, so long as they do enough of spider-man's villains and history justice. He's been around for so long, three movies just wouldn't do him justice (same could be said for Batman NOLAN!).

Besides, Spider-Man alone in his own Sony universe makes him a little more special in his world. That way he's not just doing chump work that Iron Man and Captain America are too important for. STILL! I hope so would be awesome.

I agree Spiderman deserves his own world (as does Batman) because stacked up with the likes of Superman and Thor Iron man etc, they dont compete. But let's be honest, Spiderman and Wolverine need to be in the Avengers.

What if they went about it like this:
2013 November 8 Thor The Dark World
2013 May 3 - Iron Man 3
2014 April 4 - Captain America Winter Soldier
2014 - Amazing Spiderman 2 (reboot Daredevil? just a thought)
2014 August 1 - Guardians of the Galaxy
2016 (rumored date) - The Avengers 2

Somewhere in there you have Amazing Spiderman 3 and maybe the Ant-Man movie.

So here's my theory. The Guardians of the Galaxy set up Adam Warlock to take out Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet. After a big hoopla with Thanos and the Avengers 2, the Avengers fall apart and set up the "New Avengers". Let's say this comes out 2018? That gives Marvel another couple years to tie in Andrew Garfield as Spidey and maybe a new (or old as in Hugh Jackman) Wolverine.
I'll be honest im no expert in the members of the old, founding, new, dark Avengers. But at this rate I think they will somewhat rewrite it anyway.

EDIT: And who knows about a Dark Avengers. There was the redesigned iron man armor as the Iron Patriot. Maybe down the road that really is the Patriot.

I think if Spider-Man was ever in the MCU or an Avengers movie, it probably wouldn't be Andrew Garfield.

ASM 2
Introduce Norman and Harry Osborn - Michael Massee and Alex Russell
Villain(s) - Mysterio - David Tennant
Towards the end of the movie Norman becomes the green goblin.

Asm 3
Introduce J Jonah Jameson - John C McGinley and Mary Jane - unsure on casting for this.
Main villain would obviously be the Green Goblin.
This would ultimately result in the death of Gwen Stacey and maybe the big innings of the relationship between Peter and MJ.

Then start a new trilogy where the relationship between Peter and MJ grows.

I would also like this trilogy to build up to Harry becomeing the second Green Goblin in the final film.

Other Villains I would want to see are..
Vulture
Venom
Carnage
Shocker
Electro.

So the first trilogy would be like the Norman goblin trilogy and the second would be the Harry goblin trilogy.

Lot of interesting stories. For me, personally, I would use the whole "animal-gene" idea for the trilogy, with it being a basis for the villains created.

TASM2:
I want the Osborn's to be revealed. Develop the bestfriend relationship with Harry, and the father-son relationship with Norman.
Get Peter a job at the Daily Bugle.
The villain, personally, I'd love to see Scorpion and Mysterio.

For TASM3:
We need GG. But I'd definitely save him for the third, so he could have a proper build up, as well as kill off Gwen Stacy, so if they continue with the movies post-trilogy, they can introduce MJ.

I think GG deserves an entire movie to himself. Also, it'd be cool to see Lizard again, but I hadn't put too much thought into where I'd include him.

Norman will no doubt be introduced in the next movie. By the end of TASM2, Green Goblin could appear and kill Gwen at the bridge. Nobody will know who Goblin is (except the audience and especially Spider-Man fans), but it wouldn't be revealed until the next movie, TASM3.

In the comics, nobody knew Norman was the Goblin for a long time.

I like this idea of nobody within the movie know who GG is although im not sure they will drag GG out over 2 films even if we all think its the way it should be done.

by my "sequel plan" Andrew could be as young as 38 when filming the final film. At that age I'm sure I could believe he was in his mid to late twenties.

I really don't worry about the age thing TBH. I mean they could wrap the first Trilogy and then if it is getting a bit unrealistic for Andrew to play an early to mid twenties Peter Parker the next film(s) could be written with an 5,6,7 or 8 year gap after the original trilogy ended which then would make Peter that little bit older and Andrew still able to portray him

Ok im pretty high right now so bear with me. I just had an amazing idea of how the story should go.

the whole thing should be a lead up to Mysterio!! all the movies have been an illusion, Mysterio had actually captured him and put him on a virtual reality stage to act it out.

Spiderman realizes what is going on eventually breaks loose, wakes up, Mysterio and Spiderman have an epic fight with special fxs and smoke bombs and sparklers and stuff all that pew pew.

SpiderMan beats Mysterio, He goes home and they reveal NOT Gwen Stacy! BUT!! Mary Jane!!!!!! yea its actually like 10 years after everything he just lived through so all of a sudden things get changed up, mary jane is back in, gwen stacy is dead dont get me wrong I LOVE Gwen Stacy but she has to die. What they could do is when peter comes home mary jane is like "oh my god thank the lord your ok blah blah blah"

then she asks him what exactly happened and he tells her he was put into a virtual reality world back with gwen and they like pause and mary jane says something like "Oh, yea, I miss Gwen" or something.

then...............PUMPKIN BOMB!!!!!!!! throgh there house. CREDITS.

I say Green Goblin should be the ASM2 villain. They've already done enough set up with Dr. Ratha using the Lizard serum as a hopeful cure for Osborn. It'll transform him not into a Lizard but obviously a goblin.

Alistair Smythe is dead assuming the ASM game is canon (I assume that it is).

Also we need Mary Jane to be introduced in movie 2. It's a bad idea to intro a love interest AND have them get with the main character all in one movie. People simply won't care. I say bring Gobby in for 2, kill Gwen, and have MJ help Peter through his grief over her therefore growing their relationship and allowing the GA to begin to care about MJ.

Lastly, I'd stay away from Doc Ock in this continuity UNLESS they decide to do the Sinister Six but I'm not sure how well they could pull that off :/ This series needs to distance itself from Raimi as much as possible so with GG already in the works, they should hold off on using Doc Ock, Sandy, or Hobgoblin. Venom might be ok if they go with the standalone movie plan and incorporate that into ASM3 (but it HAS to be done right).

Cast:

Norman Osborn/The Green Goblin: Michael Massee
Harry Osborn: Anton Yelchin
Mary Jane Watson: MEW/Lyndsi Fonseca/Zooey Deschannel
Betty Brant: Zooey Deschannel/Lyndsi Fonseca/MEW
J. Jonah Jameson: Sam Elliot
Robbie Robertson: Denzel Washington
Adrian Toomes/The Vulture: Robert Englund
Doc Ock/Otto Octavius: Jared Harris
Eddie Brock: Alan Ritchson
Herman Schultz/Shocker: Peter Berg
Kraven The Hunter: Oded Fehr
Mac Gargan/Scorpion: Tom Hardy
The Chameleon: Madd Mikkelson
Max Dillon/Electro : Aaron Paul
Alistair Smythe: Michael Fassbender
Rhino: Vinnie Jones
Mysterio/Quentin Beck: Zacahry Quinto

As for MJ and BB they should choose 2 of that 3... that's my order (can't decide) but I'm sure Webb will make the right choices.

IMO this trilogy(from what I now it was annouced that this will be a trilogy) should be Spidey's journey about knowing his powers, what he can do and the whole responsability he has to take), that's why many characters like Octavius, Dillon, Beck, Smythe, Brock, Gargan, Toomes should be introduced but not as villains in the films, but after them, letting us think about what will happen after the trilogy.

ASM2 (Gwen's Chronicles: The Bridge, The Goblin, the Snap)

2 years after TASM, GG as the main villain, Chameleon as a minor villain, using his abilities to do the dirty things Norman/Ratha ask, Spidey may come closer to GG by catching Chameleon and so on. The film should start with Spidey fighting Shocker, putting him into jail. Connors may transform in the Lizard again, so the sewer scene with Ratha, Lizard and Peter could appear in the sequel. MJ should appear, along with Harry as supporting characters, Peter will begin to take photos for the Bugle, so JJ, Robbie, Brock and Betty will be there too. Octavius and Smythe will help Norman with the tools and the formula for the Goblin. The Goblin will find out that Pete's Spidey, so that will be a terror for Peter, like a combination between Joker's madness and Bane's tactical genius and the fact he knew Bruce was Batman. Goblin's mindgames must be chaos for Spidey.
In the mid of the movie Peter may break up with Gwen, so MJ will appear with her quote.

The Death of Gwen will certainly be there. After the death, a devastated Peter, encounters an equally shocked MJ, maybe like this :

I'd like too see some quotes from the comics as well like : "You killed the woman I love, and for that you're going to die". I don't have any worries about the chemistry between Gwen(emma) and Peter(andrew).

ASM3 (Peter's Chronicles: New begginings)

Inspired from Kraven's Last Hunt, a good amount of time after ASM2(months-years), Peter still like "I saved the entire world, but couldn't save the woman I loved",tormented by the fact that he didn't keep his promise to Stacy, at the mid of the movie Peter should start dating MJ, she helps him to overcome the mistakes he made.

Along the trilogy Peter has to learn the thing about the great responsability he has. In this series,I want to see Spidey's development into the hero we know and love. The whole trilogy, should be Spidey's maturation.

PS: I don't have any ideas about the catburglar chase, if he has to/will catch him or not.
