So what do we actually know about this movie?

Besides it being set after the original trilogy, I mean.

I've been hearing contradictory things.

All we know is that.

Lucas said they can pull from anything, he had notes for Episode VII-IX, and he also said they had the entire EU at their disposal. So honestly they can use anything/make anything up. Lucas clearly said it's up to them now.

Eh maybe, sorry have a hard time with Lucas and what he claims with that, and it's honestly hearsay as of now. And there is nothing that suggests they have to use it. Or use the extensive part.

Hope the movies are good. It has definitely been too long since there's been a great Star Wars movie. With Lucas gone the opportunity has arisen.

I know that Disney won't be stupid about this. They just bought a franchise that honestly is bigger than what they got with Marvel. They know they have to be respectful of it, and bring the brand back to it's former glory years. I'm sure they will get nothing but a AAA directors/writers on board.

I think its interesting how many times both Lucas and Disney have mentioned the fact their is numerous books and comics. Its almost as if the EU material can possibly be adapted.

I'd say by the end of this year honestly. They did that 2.5 years before Begins came out. They will need to start on this very soon. So I think we may find out very soon. Next few months perhaps.

Finally! It's about time we got a Star Was forum.

Still can't believe that Disney not only purchased Lucasfilm, but that we're getting Episode 7 in 2015. As a SW fan, this is quite unreal.

It honestly feels like a dream to me. Two weeks ago me and my bud were discussing Star Wars, The Secret History of Star Wars (we had just read through them) ect. And how will there ever be a future for Star Wars? Ect. And wow, it was like a dream come true, completely out of left field. I thought it was a joke at first.

I'm not saying anything.

Last time I got hyped I ended up with Phantom Menace.

My expectations are so low, anything halfway decent will be a pleasant surprise.

It's not something I thought I'd ever see and honestly something that I didn't want to. But now that Lucas is no longer in charge the sky's become the limit as far as what can be done with the next trilogy.

I wouldn't be surprised now if we got some info, even if it's a tiny bit of info by the end of the year or at least the beginning of next year.

I never thought I'd really get to see an actual new SW movie, so this news is great. I'm super excited about the possibilities for this.
