Default What would James Cameron's Spider-Man look like?

So I just read the script for Cameron's Spider-Man, and I'm wondering what it would've looked like. I know Leonardo DiCaprio was in negotiations and Schwarzenegger was going to have a cameo as Doc Ock, but I want to know what you guys think it would like!

Here's some pretty cool fanmade art for Cameron's Spider-Man.

(This would've looked perfect as a live-action poster.)

WRONG. His script contained web-shooters and organic webbing. The web-shooters for Peter to shoot his webs straighter without making a gooey mess.

So is that why Peter David wrote a mechanical webshooter to increase the web range in the first movie novel?

We're talking about James Cameron's Spider-Man, not Peter David. The first movie did rip-off some of James Cameron's script.

Wasn't Max Dillon supposed to be a rich guy who uses his powers to play the stock market?

Yeah, he was a Kingpin figure. I wonder who Cameron wanted him to be played by...

Robert Downey Jr. expressed interest 15 years ago.

Anyone remember this gem?

Also, there was a guy who actually storyboarded the entire script a couple years ago. Pretty cool.

WAIT! The storyboards aren't official??

I love that. Leo would've been an amazing Peter Parker.

Here's a smoothed out version:

I'm willing to bet that if James Cameron had made Spider-Man, Leo would've looked like this-

Nikki Cox, I believe.

That DiCaprio casting was definitely real, though. Leo was Cameron's choice for Peter.

He was considered for Raimi's Spider-Man too. I wonder how close he got to playing Spider-Man. I heard there were rumors of them talking about it on the set of Titanic.

They weren't rumors. They were definitely talking about doing Spider-Man together at the time (circa 1997).

Aside from the hair in that poster (and titanic lol), not really. Also, Ultimate Spider-Man didn't exist in 1994.

He would've been amazing. I think he'd have to change his look to look like Peter. IN the script, Peter has brown hair. He would've looked like this-

I don't see it.

I see a brown-haired Leo, which would've been great for Peter. Just add glasses and a camera.

Leo would have been cool and all (for the 90's), but he's a bit too much of a heart throb to convincingly portray a character like Peter Parker (who is not a dreamy, movie star looking guy). Maguire and Garfield both work because they can pull off the nerdy "outsider", but let's be honest, they're also pretty good looking.

To be honest, I'm more curious about Doc Ock. Didn't he have acameo in James Cameron's script?

No. Electro and Sandman were the villains in Cameron's story.

There is a script with Doc Ock floating online, but Cameron had nothing to do with it (even though it bears his name along with a whole list of other writers).

Only the Electro/Sandman scriptment was written by Cameron. That would have been the basis for his film.
