So how the hell do I go live?

Well I got broadband, but sadly my old ass computer doesn't have the specifications required (its really old, like 7 years maybe), and I won't be getting a new one till x mas (which luckily isn't too far away).

I tried to install it on my x box (i plugged in the modem) but it says it was disconnected, even though it wasn't.

what am I doing wrong? I thought you didn't need a computer with broadband to go live? what have I missed? what should I have connected?

It just seems so very complicated
