Smile The Spider-Man 3 Forums: The Year That Was...2006

Well folks, 2006 is almost over, and it's time to say goodbye to what was a doozy of a year here on these forums. When I joined back in 2005, I didn't think I'd be where I am today. A sad and somewhat ridiculous 7,500 posts later, I have become fully entrenched in the world of the Hype. And most specifically, the world of the Spider-Man 3 Spoiler Forums.

It's been a wild ride. The highs. The lows. The debates. The noobs/newbs/n00bs. We waited with bated breath for every spoiler, "insider" report, and picture we could find. The days, the weeks, the months. All patiently waiting for May 2007.

But what was the most memorable event on this forum this year?

Was it the revelation of Venom and subsequent hype surrounding his appearance? Or was it the riddles supposedly hidden within the lenses of our favorite webslinger? Or maybe it was the shadowy prescence of a supposed fourth villain? Or....lakiamai and the Q&As from hell?

It's time for you to decide! Make your vote count!

So far for me it's

1. Comic-con

2. VENOM

3. Spider-Man 3 lenticular teaser poster

4. Teaser Trailer

I would have to say Comic Con 2006 and Venom is the best moment of 2006. I have really enjoyed talking to everyone on here since i joined in May 2006. The Debates have been wonderful. So let's make these next 6 months something to remember.

For me it was after the FAQ. It seemed like after every pic, or some sort of new info, it always came back to the FAQ. Which was pretty interesting to read all the debates and arguments.

Another favorite, was always seeing someone starting a thread saying "I talked to Sam Raimi, or "My Friend works on the movie" Those were comical at times, just seeing the ridicule all the other hypers gave them.

So pretty much, now we get to look forward to Thursday night, and how much the hype will blow up after the trailer. And i'm sure that will hold some people over for several months to come. It's a good time to to be on the hype

For me it was the lakiamai saga. I can't forget that guy who told us everything, and everything he said was true. It was unbelievable, however, I believed him from the start.

But in the matter of getting goosebumps, my number one was "comic con".... it was breathtaking, although the vid was everything but clear

for me:

1- Seeing the Cleveland city shooting via webcam live, waking up at 5 am till 11 pm just to see if we could get some action (By the way, thanks to powder-man for the capture man)

2- Lakiamai leaked stuff

3-Venom

4- What's in spidey's eye (i still belive there were something haha)

5- Seeing how people are exited about the third movie... Lots of people went to see Talladega Nights only for the SM3 trailer

C-Con 2006.

It was very exciting thread (I was checking it out almost every day), which turned into chat without sense.

I wasn't really here for most of this. But the "What's in Spidey's eye" was hilarious. Fans can get a little too excited.

My 2006 of Spider-Man would have to be, Comic Con, Venom, and the forth villain debate.

Comic-Con. I don't think anybody really was excited about the info Lakiamai gave us because almost nobody believed him at the time.

Well, by "Lakiamai Saga", I'm referring to the debate surrounding him and his Q&As, and the fallout afterwards.

Yeah, but it wasn't exactly exciting when people lynched eachother.

There was nothing in Spidey's eye.

Something that wasn't on the list was all the forum haters pretty much virtually disappearing. That or they flip-flopped magically again.

There now IS a promotional image where Sandman is in his eye.

We never really had a TEH Venom day. Venom was only gradually revealed until the point where it was 90% certain and then Raimi confirmed it. I was quite disappointed by that.

Chasing the Spider-Man 3 set,*sigh*,that was so surreal.

Comic-Con, I got really out of control,it's what Spidey does to me.

I came here in the middle of the black suits unveiling and was quite amused.

The teaser trailer & Venom. I hadn't been that hyped up for a trailer since SM2. It was the best day ever for sure. When I saw the commercial today talking about the new trailer thats coming up, I blushed.
I Tobey.

The teaser trailer definately. I remember staying up until 6 in the morning waiting for it, and what we got was an early bootleg of it. Great times....

I remember staying up till 4:00 am before i punked out and went to sleep. As soon as i got up the next day i went online to see if it was up. I had to watch the bootleg version with my foggy morning eyes.
