I have to agree about The Rocketeer. That movie is a classic IMO.

The Phantom was a really enjoyable movie, but considering how the majority of the reviewers felt about it, I'd like to see another film hit theatres. The Shadow this one I think is in desperate need of a remake, I personally liked the movie, Alec Baldwin was great as The Shadow, the look and feel of the character was spot on it's just that the film itself could've done a lot better then it did. I would personally like to see this come to the big-screen again real soon and with Sam Raimi as director, I think that's a perfect combination considering his style. |

I third it.
I love The Shadow and The Phantom. I haven't seen Dick Tracy in about 10 years, so I can't really remember it. |

IMO I think the Rocketeer is probably the most under rated comic book movie and probably one of the best top 3 comic book movies ever made.
True fat did you know that Bill Campbell and Jennifer Connelly fell in love during the shooting of that movie and were engaged to be married for a couple of years before breaking it off. ![]()

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:
put me down for the Rocketeer. it has great everything, casting, the characters looked great, Jennifer Connelly , and great music by James Horner Dick Tracy was before Sin City the first live action movie that felt like a comic book. I have the making off book did you know that the ONLY colors used in that movie were the ones fell under the primary colors used in painting? notice there are no browns, or any dull colors at all. and you cannot go wrong with the great Elfman for his score (i have the cd). and i agree the make up fx still look good 18 years later .

Yep. Darkman was a better Shadow movie than The Shadow.

I didn't particularly enjoy "Dick Tracy", but that was probably caused by the casting of first Beatty and then Madonna. "The Shadow" I enjoyed, I thought the casting in it was very good (John Lone made such an evil Shiwan Khan !) "The Phantom" was fun too, but Billy Zane came across as a bit bland, particularly when compared to the delightfully manic performance of Treat Williams as Xander Drax ! I like "The Rocketeer" as well and have copies of the last three films that I mentioned.

I love Dick Tracy as a kid. Still, it's not a bad movie per say. And I love the Danny Elfman theme.
The Shadow I liked, and I liked the set designs moreso than the story itself.

It actually had a pretty big all star cast looking back. The Phantom was fun, but it was nothing compared to Rocketeer, The Shadow, and Dick Tracy. Rocketeer trumps them all though.

"The Phantom" and "Dick Tracy" though are awesome. "Phantom" is so underrated but Billy Zane was great in it and it got us to meet Catherine Zeta-Jones whom I still believe just from her character in that would make a good Talia in a Batman film. And "Tracy" the colors, the designs, the cast, etc. is so dead-on with the comic-book. |

I thought Dick Tracy is a cool fun movie.
Then The Phantom, mainly because I thought Zane was good in the role. And lastly the Shadow, mainly because "The Shadow" himself didn't have much screen time, and the final battle was lousy.

The Shadow was an asskickin Comic adaptation-so was Tracy, tracy, tracy. I hadn't even seen a Warren Beaty film til I saw that.
The Phantom was the weak link, w/ the Rocketeer just above it. No redo's of these films Shadow>>Dick Tracy>>>>>>>Rocketeer>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>Billy Zane>>>>The Phantom |
